I just bought a 93 Mirage coupe that has a 4g63-t and AWD swap. The car has an FP3052 w/Tial 44mm wastegate, 660cc injs, walbro 255, mbc, and a safc-2 (the rest of the engine is a '93 4g63-t stock longblock and intercooler with 4,500 miles on a stock rebuild). I get the impression that the safc-2 is not going to be sufficient when running more than ~14lbs with this turbo(?) I am going to add a large FMIC, wideband, egt gauge, and a ported 2g exhaust manifold. I am eventually hoping to run 27 to 30lbs on C16 with this longblock and turbo and get 400+awhp.

All of my experience tuning cars has been on my AWD Talon which has a standalone (Haltech), 20g, and supporting mods. I don't know what I will need on my Mirage for ECU control. I am thinking I will need a 3" or 3.5" GM maf and a maf-t? Do I need DSM link at this point? Or is there a cheaper way to get my setup to 400-450awhp? Will I need cams to meet my hp goal? (I don't think so).

I know that I have very few posts, but I do have a fair amount of experience working on my Talon, so I am not too new to these cars or tuning the 4g63-t; but I don't know much about the limits of a stock ECU w/a piggy back.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for your help and time.

Indeed. I bought it in Portland. It is a coupe and I bought it from a guy named Paul (Not to be confused with the Paul (Evil93evo) from the Portland area who is selling a sedan).

2G MAF will easily help you get 400 whp. It is very efficient, and many people that run big numbers use it.

I see you want to put a large FMIC, does that mean its on a sidemount now or just a small FMIC? All you really need is some cams, a decent FMIC, and a good tune. Keep the 2g MAF, just hack it if need be.

The car had a DSM sidemount when I got it. I decided to put the motor that was in my Talon into the Mirage. It has a built head, 272's, Wiseco pistons, cryo treated 1g big rods, and only about 2,500 miles on it.

Thanks for everyone's input! If I get the 2g MAF, do I need a translator?

No, you need an Eprom chipped to compensate and you will be fine.
