They are all over ebay or I'm sure some of the members here may have one laying around. FWD or AWD does not matter but it must be from a turbo car of course.

If you run a 90 ECU you have to run the 450's and 1G MAF... otherwise the car will run like poo.

If you're going to have some sort of fuel control you really won't need a 1g ecu. The maf-t should take care of that.

Well doesnt the ecu also make the car run better...and elimate things such as boost spikes?

I've never heard that, I would think the only difference would be that it was set to run 390cc injectors where the M/T 4G63T ecu is set to run 450's. If you're just looking to pop in some 450's and plan to run the maf-t setup anyway I would think you'd be OK with the stock ecu. Either way non-eprom 90 turbo ecu's can be had for $100 or less all day long.

I run a 1.6L stock colt ECU (with DSMlink). 1600cc injectors

According to Dave Mertz at DSMlink the 1.6L ECU and the 2.0 DSM ecu are the exact same ECU exept for the 1.6L ECU does not have a track in it for the pin that drives the boost gauge. He did however say he could add that track in the ECU.

Now this stands true for 1.6L turbo E-prom Ecu's I cannot speak for any other ones.

Not all 4g61t cars had eprom ecus. The 90 4g63t ecu is calibrated for 450's and a 4g63t maf and the 4g61t ecu is calibrated for 390's and a 4g61t maf.

No, the maf-t does not take the place of dsmlink. All it does is let you plug in the 3" or 3.5" GM mas and converts the wiring to work with the stock ecu. The maf-t has a set of knobs and switches that lets you run larger injectors. You will still need a logger to make the most of the maf-t as it only gives you a starting point for tuning.

DSM link is a completely different deal that allows much more tuning, hence the higher price tag.

Also only some ecu's are eprom. You'll have to open up the case to see if yours is one of them. It doesn't have to be for the maf-t, it does for dsm link.
