Is there any way to get a more "instant" version of this? I dont mind payin a couple bucks but I'd hate to wait for shipping.. Are there any good write ups online to help in the mean time if there isn't? Can someone please show me a link ( I know there out there ).

There is the whole AWD Tech section to look through. The video should be reinforcing what you already know, but need pointers about. If you are starting out fresh, and need much more help than the video is going to give you, this task will be daunting indeed and possibly above people's heads. This is just a reminder as part of why I think Jason made this, but people have to be safe and realistic about their approaches. I have the AWD Miragetec writeup if it's needed as that is about as close as you will get to actual writeup versus pictorial rundowns.

I was hoping to get a refresher in the FWD swap.. What mounts to use, what wiring goes where etc.. I've actually done a 93 swap and struggled through it was a good 7 years ago!

all sounds good so far, but noone mentioned how to install the fuel pump, and if new lines need to be ran afterwards?

i got the 1.8 to 4g63t (1g fwd) swap going on, so if you could also show how you would run your intercooler piping (front mount probly) and then explain or show how you would set up the exhaust as well that'd help alot too. i've heard of using an awd downpipe, and 2g exhaust back to the gas tank and then custom after that....what size 2.5 inch 3 inch etc.

maybe do an extras as far as how to install the big brake system? the 3000gt brake master cylinder installation and the 2g callipers as well....

if you get the wiring harness adapter off of mirageman89 and run just the motor wiring to the 4g63t, how do u go about setting it up? do u pull the dash out etc. or if you dont get the wiring harness adapter and you get the full wiring do you pull the dash etc. (and if the dash comes out explain what the best way would be maybe?)

if you have to make 2 dvds maybe? one for the fwd conversion, and other for awd....or start it out with the fwd and then make the rest of it installation for the awd suspension etc.

since im using the 1.8 trans on the 4g63t what kinda clutch would u use etc. does the stock clutch for a non turbo 4g63t hold up to the power alright? or does it slip? thats an actual question im currently searching for the answer for and if i cant find it or get a reply soon i'll make a new post about it lol.

I don't know if you planned on doing all of this stuff but thats alot of the things im currently intrested in knowing about...alot intrested in how to do it and even more intrested in the easiest way/cheapest way/ parts selection you would use.

stock lines will be fine for you, but at least swap in a turbo fuel pump... instructions are on vfaq.com

since you are converting a DSM to basically a stock DSM, I suggest looking into a DSM front mount intercooler kit on ebay or one of the many DSM sites on the intarwebz

I think since you are going from DSM engine wiring to DSM body wiring you should be plug and play, the adapter you are talking about is to convert DSM engine wiring to CSM body wiring

if you are thinking about going AWD in the future just stop now and wait for an AWD car because they CAN be found cheap and all the other stuff you are talking about doing (fuel, wiring, intercooler, THE FREAKING REAR DIFF...) The DSM is not like the old EA81 subarus where you can just bolt in the AWD stuff, its an entirely different floor stamping in the back of the unibody. Save yourself a lot of work if you simply have to go AWD and save for an original

one of the first CSM turbo conversions we did used a 1.8 trans, NA 2.0 Flywheel, and I think a stock CSM turbo clutch and pressure plate

SINCE you asked, I would personally just look around for a stock AWD car, as everything you want to do will ALREADY be done, but if you are set on going 1.8FWD to 2.0 AWD, then I say get a welder and good luck

well i was mostly just mentioning what i'd like to see in a dvd ( didnt know it was a hella old post until a bit ago) but you helped me alot by answering. i am confused a little though on this one thing

so for my 1.8 4th gen mirage, i wouldnt need the adaptor to plug the talon motor wiring harness in to the mirage? using the ecu/mpi relay from the talon would work fine? im using the orriginal 1.8 trans from the car so that cuts some of the wiring out that i wouldn't need. hmm i guess i'll have to maybe message mirageman again and see if i need it or if i mis-read somewhere.

and as far as awd goes im just stickin with fwd on this one...maybe in a year or two ill buy another to mess with like that, but i just need a good ol daily driver for now.

I vote transmission rebuild and assembly DVD since not many people crack a trans open but many may need too.
