Ok. I have a 91 summit. I bought this car from a friend with a 4g61 turbo engine already in it. It has a 90 dsm wire harness. I assume a 2.0liter harness is the same as the 1.6? I am using a 90 ecu on 90 harness. I now have a jdm 4g63 turbo. This engine has a couple different plugs on it than my harness has to match. Not sure of the year of the engine, but it is set up for an external oil cooler, so I assume it is an early model engine. Anyway, I was going through the harness and it is very unorganized and in some places hacked. It is also wired up for rear battery relocation. So I have an engine on one corner, and a wire harness spead eagle on my windshield(fuse boxes still connected and in place. 1: Is there a source that labels each plug that comes off the harness. Sort of like a ecu pin list decription. I just don't know where everything goes, what is going to be left unplugged, and if there any missing plugs. With the engine and wires laying out, what is the best(least confusing) method to start plugging ths thing up? I hate wires. -kyle |

Search and you will find. But as you're a "newbie" I will be kind... Wirings easy, just take your time and have a multimeter handy. http://www.ecanfix.com/users/manualcd/gift/dsm/ http://www.ecanfix.com/~mdhamilton/ |

Why not swap the sensors from the current engine over to the new engine? |

I don't think that was the main problem. It was finding where the right plugs were. The 4g61 also had a couple sesnro the 63 did not have. Combine that with cut wires and unuplugged plugs...it was just all getting confusing. |

Err the 4g61 is the same as a 4g63 from a 90 car. Swap your sensors to the JDM motor cuase the JDM sensors are often unique and will not work with a USDM ECU. |

The TPS sensor plug in completely missing from my harness. Hrmmm, I think I'll get another harness and start with something I know will work. |
