hey guys...I searched the archives but it wasn't specific enough for my problem. I have a 89 colt turbo with 4G61T. my car doesn't like to idle any more, and when it does idle its at like 300rpm so its chugging pretty good. other than that it runs fine. I have a 1G DSM exhaust cam turned a tooth, it normally does chug a little when it idles because of the cam but never this bad, it stalls 90% of the time now. could it be my IAC??? I know it isn't the cam because for the past year since I turned the cam a tooth its been fine, this just started the other day. any help at all would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks!!

Nigel Malone

i agree, you should HAVE to mess with it... but ya never know. my bet's still on the iac though... (if that's the right one i'm thinking of that goes bad and causes a crappy idle, too tired right now)

I hope that you fixed the problem but if you have not here are to links to read that should get you in the right direction.

ISC/IAC- http://dmtalon.v8eaters.com/ISC.html

BISS- http://www.vfaq.com/mods/BISS-1G.html

Read both pages then look at the car. Good luck

Dave

PS: The TPS (throttle Position Sensor) is the one you should never have to mess with.

If it was my car, I'd adjust to BISS, and if that doesn't fix it, I'd contact this guy:

http://www.crebotech.com/ He is a guy on a local forum I'm on, and some of the guys swear by him. I'm sure he can point you in the right direction.

if the IAC is malfuctioning, cant you just run the car with it unplugged, or will the car just die and wont idle??
