Inner shafts are identical between Colt Turbo, GVR4, and 1G AWD. The only difference comes in the block mounting. I think one goes through the AC compressor bracket, the other doesn't. Either way, they are all compatible with a 2.0L block.

Im having trouble with my fidanza stage 2 fwd dsm axles they are too long.. Has anyone had this problem? Do I have to get them cut at a machine shop? If so, does anyone know how much needs to be removed?

The integrity of the axle will probably be lost once it's "cut" and rewelded(?) I would sell them and buy OEM Mirage turbo axles. They are plenty strong.

I'm pretty sure my passenger side axle is too long. The splined end into the tranny doesn't seat all the way against the seal. It's about an inch too long. Is that where the issue is? I'd hate to buy a new axle because I'm not doing something right. I know it won't go in further because it hits the inside of the tranny.

Hey LILEVO, I picked up the axles from carquest with the numbers you gave me (and passed off the 1.5's for my refund even though they didn't fit in the box  ). I also have the 2g awd axle, do I need to take off the halfshaft on the 2g axle and connect the turbo colt halfshaft to it or did I buy an extra halfshaft for no reason?

For 1G AWD trans, Mirage turbo trans, 1G FWD turbo trans

You need:

1.) Mirage turbo driver side
2.) Mirage turbo shaft that bolts to the block, GVR4 or 1G shaft that bolts to the block
3.) Mirage turbo passenger side

That has always worked on my setup. I don't know if anything else will work.

I couldn't seem to get my passenger side axle seated correctly, so I figured I had the wrong axle in there. (was on the car when I bought it) I picked up a reman unit from Autozone and it slides in perfectly. Strange thing is that both axles have the exact same dimensions. I took some pics of them so that maybe someone can shed some light on this. Diameter, spline count, shaft length, everything is the same. Why would one slide in and the other not? I even pulled the tranny to check it out while I did some other things. The new axle slides in with no issues. The old unit will not engage the splines properly even without the C-clip attached. I've pounded on it a little just to make sure I put enough pressure on it and still nothing. Anyone have any idea why I paid almost $100 for an axle that is exactly the same as the old one, except this one slides in? Do CV axles wear out like that?

Jeff, I had a couple older Hondas that I somehow got and 'auto' trans end that the little internal snapring was in a s l i g h t l y different spot and wouldnt go in all the way.
And then I've had some that the ledge right under the spline cuts that the lip-seal rides on was just a 3/16" or so too short and wouldn't engage with the bearing.
The nut would tighten but still flop around like bad balljoints would feel.

Is the distance AFTER the c-clip identical between both axles? I had one axle that was a hair shorter after the c-clip than another axle. One would pop out, the longer one wouldn't.

It was an issue of the c-clip seating

Just go to your local Carquest with the part #'s that Jason listed on the 1st page of this thread and have them order them for you.

And if they say the number doesn't exist smack the person (optional) and ask for someone that isn't an idiot to help you. First time I went the person was like "err, those part numbers don't exist". Went back the second time with the same numbers, gave him (different guy) the part numbers and a minute later they were ordered.

$280ish without cores, $150ish after cores. I had to sneak my cores back in, one was sticking out of the box but I pulled it off and got the core refund.
