Post subject:  Changing sensors?

Of all the people who actually done the swap from a 1.6T to a 2.0T, who actually had to swap sensors? Please say which engine(90, or 91-94) and which ecu(90, or 91-94). Also post which sensors you had to change. Im trying to see if i have to swap sensors or not.

Depends on the engine...Once you swap just place the two engine next to each other and compare the connections...That will be the easiestiestiest route...

If you have an engine from a 90, the sensors are the same, if it is a 91+, you can use your sensors off of the 4g61. If you use a 90 ECU, it is plug and play, if it is a 91-94 ECU, you'll have to swap two wires on the harness. You would have to swap all throttle body sensors and the CAS, if the engine is not out of a 90. Hope that helps :)

I knew about the 6+14 wires already, but is it really just thoes two sensors? CAS+ throttle body sensor? i know i have to change coil, but what else?

The sensors themselves aren't really different, just the connections to them.

Things different between the 90 and the 91+.

Coil packs, 90's have a 4 pin plug, 91+ has 3.
Ign Transistor, 90's are smaller that the 91's, I think 5 pin to 7 pin.
CAS, 90's have a pigtail on them, 91+ the harness plugs into it.
TPS, 90's have a pigtail, 91+ doesn't.

Plus the ECU differences, but you knew about that.

If you have a 90 harness, then use all the 90 stuff. Same goes for 91+ harness/sensors. Changing that shit over isn't all that hard either, it'll take you maybe an hour max to do it if the engines are side by side.
