Well I just paid for my SCM61 setup for an external wastegate on the O2 housing. I see that Tom Tharp, aka underdog, runs the extrememotorsports O2 eliminator with 40mm tial wastegate. This sets the wastegate perpendicular to the turbo for clearence since we can't run something such as a VP O2 housing due to the fact that the wastegate points at the radiator. A friend of mine has a custom O2 housing with 40mm tial that is a carbon copy of the extreme housing and he had to take out a powersteering bolt because the wastegate nudged the bolt. The tial 44mm vband gate is actually shorter than the 40mm gate which would probably have provided enough clearence for him so that is what I am looking towards right now but there are a few other things I have questions on. I noticed while looking at my engine bay today that the oil dipstick will have to be rerouted or bent, if someone has had some experience with that and could contribute some info there that would be great. And I also wanted to know how easy it is to change oil filters with a 90 oil housing and external gate for the guys who have them, since most 4g63 CSMers are probably 90 motors.

its not bad at all
for the dip stick just bend it to where ever you like
the oil filter will be fine if you must just buy the 95 oil filters they are shorter and not as thick you will not have any clearance issues then
good luck

Well that gate looks like a 40mm gate there but they may have changed the design on the 38, how old is it? Good new for the guys lookin manifold mounted, because it looks like it fits great. Well thanks antilag for the info about the oil filter and dipstick. I'll take some pics of everything and post them on here when the parts are being put together.

mowlgi it looks like in that picture you move the radiator and placed it under the support brace giving you almost a good 2 inches of clearances, damn wish I had thought of that insitead of going with that stupid honda radiator

Yeah Aluminum 1G radiator, i dont know who made it. I am also not sure on the age of the wastegate. I was told it was a 38 so, whatever. If it does its job why complain right?

got any pictures on how you mounted/moved the radiator???

And changed to a smaller oil filter may not be the best choice, go with a remote oil filter system, it will make oil changes easier(no cramping your arm to get to it anymore!) and make that room you need for your O2 housing/wastegate dump you need...

thanks for the info mowgli, your gate is a 40mm they did not make any square flanged gates in 38mm , their 38 mm gate basically is a 35mm body with a 40mm head and a machined out valve, like you said it works so why bitch

I will try adn get more pics of how the radiator fitted. And it is helpful as hell to have it there, just look at the room i have for the turbo. Plus i have some more space if i plan on going bigger.
