Post subject:  Instrument cluster needle calibration - Help

just swapped in some white faced gauges and now all my needles (except for the speedometer) are off. It says im idling at like 5000rpm, temp is on hot, and my full tank reads halfway now.

Whats the easiest way to get everything right? Do I have to put the cluster in the car and keep repositioning the needles until I feel that they are right? Do I twist the little pin in the cluster? Anyone experienced with this feel free to chime in. all help is appreciated. thanks

Fill up the the tank and put the needle back on. Get the car up to temp. replace the needle in the mid point. At idle replace your needle at your idle point. that only leaves the speedometer get a friend to drive beside you at 30 mph and ad place the needle on.

thats good advice beserko....

but is ther any set voltages that can be applied to them in order to place them in the 'test' position or anything like that?

I like your idea, reallly I do but I'm pretty sure thats not how they do it at the factory.

ps I have the new gauges to, but I'm to scared to put them on for exactly the above reason.

Cheers

Rus.

I'm thinking at the factory the gauge mechanicals are at 'rest' position, which these do not return to with the ignition off.
