Ok since my 89 Colt GT 4g15 automatic went "south" on me im gonna venture a new path and resurect a Pheonix from the ashes of my 4g15.
Since I Have a 4G64 SOHC 8v block in perfect running condition in my garage i plan on just putting that together and dropping that in for replacement for my 4G15.

First order is removing the balance shaft since it went out of wack and enlongated the bearing hole in the block. But I do know for certain I will need the following parts for this:

* FWD Intake manifold
* SOHC 4G64 injectors
* SOHC 4G64 distributor
* SOHC 4G64 ECU
* SOHC 4G64 MAF

Now the mounting is somewhat shady. Do i use the 4G15 or 4G6X CSM front timing mount?

And I take it I will need the 4G6X block mounts and 4G61 "roller" mounts to the front crossmember to get it properly aligned(sp?)

Paul,

Just get the engine in place with DOHC lower/tranny mounts in place and see where that leaves you see what compatible with going there..

AFAIK you'll have to use a 4G6x timing belt mount. The diesel engines (4D6x) that came in the CSMs have a head design similar to the SOHC heads and still have that mount.

Uh... ask Berserko! :D I remeber faintly that the 4G64 SOHC bolts to stock 4G15 tranny mounts. I think it was Steward Dibbs who did that.

Edit: just scroll down so Paul's above post is in the center of the screen. You can see SIX bunnies hopping around. Darn, this is annoying. Anybody got a sawed-off? :twisted:
