You still have to run a small diameter pipe coming from the turbo. If you bolt to the stock location that is. The stock outlet restricts you to that. You can run anywhere from 2-2.5" though. You have to remember, the turbo outlet is only so big(unless you weld on an elbow) and the throttle body plate is only so big. You could have a sick nasty 5" intercooler pipe, but if your throttle body is only 45mm at the plate, well then that just is not doing you any good.

Again, 2-2.5" will probably yield the same results.

Just get a new turbine housing. Easy enough and cheap enough to find a good one. Anything from a 14b to a Evo III housing will work fine. Not a big deal. And it is a v-band.

You really need to stay away from ebay. I told you you get what you pay for. Parts are not that expensive for these cars to have fun with.

With that said, I can't really tell from the pictures if it is an Evo III housing or a knockoff, but it at least has the outer appearence of a Evo III housing. You can tell by the manifold flange that has the funny shape(sort of circle like) rather than just a square.

Just a fyi bigger is not always better or faster i went 11.62 at 121mph on my bone stock 1.6l and e316g... I will list my mods i had a boost controller also a evo 8 stock intercooler, 950cc injectors, wally 255 flp, dsmlink v3 tuned by me on e 85....There wasn't much to my setup i went 11.6 i think 8 times and traped as high as 124.76 all at bandi.... Oh jared may be the quickest but john is the fastest and john is on a baby turbo and trapped 140 at bandi...I went out to set the record for the 16g in colorado and i did that i bought the car cheap and put as little money into it as possible...I sold it to a guy who said he owned a performance shop in the springs...

Btw my car wieghed 2485 with me in it when i ran my quickest time....

Also that ebay housing for the 16g is fine nothing wrong with it just dont buy a turbo from ebay...

I got a real mhi big 16g with a few hairline cracks on the turbine housing, Pics are above. Some people say run it as is some say replace the turbine housing. I got a custom fmic kit from a guy in town that came off his 4g63t mirage, should bolt right up. I ordered the 3" ebay downpipe for 2g awd should bolt right up I hope lol. I bought dsmlink v2 with 1990 socketed ecu from awd3gcsm here on the board, Still waiting for him to ship it. I still need a 2g exhaust manifold, 2g o2 housing, 1000cc injectors and walbro 255 to run e85 and a few more things. Should be pretty fun when its done :D

Should be a fun setup and reliable....I think getting a new turbine housing is wise imo but i have run cracked tubine housingd with no ill efects but they do cause boost controlling issues sometimes...I forgot to add i had a act 2100 street disc clutch to and had an EBAY vented o2 housing witch was awsome let me hold 24 to 26 psi to redline witch i had set at 7500 rpms...Also back in the day i had a fp3065 on my 1.6l, but it wasnt on there long as i built a motor around that turbo but i did like it on the 1.6l....

Also i always retarded my stock exhaust cam a tooth on my 1.6l...

You cannot use anything but a mass air flow sensor with V2. Speed Density is a version 3 thing.

I understand that. I may just run a 2g mas for now or upgrade to v3 and run a gm maf with their cable. I really don't want to mess with a maft. Im only expecting to make around 300hp
