Why not build a 1.8. You'd need custom small bore pistons. I'm pretty sure the cranks are possibly lighter. Same stroker as 2.0 smaller bore than your 1.6.

Turbo will make up an limited difference between the 1.6L and 2.0L motor displacements.
Pistons to meet a 2.0L into the 4g61 block will very custom and not sure if there is any issue with where the pin will end up in the piston.
Turbocharging a 4g61t will get you nearly as much output as a 2.0L, just minus a bit on the torque curve.
I vote 4g61t all stock or with better pistons ie 0 miles and upgraded, with some stronger rods.
Rev happy rod to stroke ratio of the 4g61 is better for sustained high RPM, hands down.
Yes, the 4g63 can be flogged to the moon and back, but it does not share the same, better by design rod to stroke ratio.
Both cranks have of identical internal makeup and nitride coatings on the journals/surfaces, same 1G rods and bearings.
You can do whatever you want, it would be cool to see a 4g63 crank get sandwiched in there, but I vote for a built 4g61t.
Head prep/porting, cams, ECMLink tuning (or similar), intake manifold/TB, intercooler design and pipe sizing/gradual upsizing and routing, exhaust tuning, etc, etc will make that 4g61 sing.
If you want a little more grunt down low, then a dual runner Cyclone intake with control via ECMLink or similar solenoid control functions via RPM will get you
considerably more low end grunt (20-40 ft/lbs of documented torque on a 4g63 motor with a reasonably small turbo setup).

Transmission choice at this point?

If you go 4g61t route, Wiseco has specs for a 10:1 piston for it. They didn't until I had them make a custom set for me. :supz:

Modifications to same block, all is open except for block.

A 63 will put me in higher class.

Thanks.
What class of racing is this?

How will they verify the block? The displacement?

Had not seen your post. This is for a road racing car.

They will verify the block specs.
