Some guy here in Costa Rica, is doing a swap on his 1989 colt. He is installing a 4g92 mivec engine. the black top has 172 hp so I was wondering if somebody in this forum has made this swap.

I know the 4g63t is the best option to go turbo, but for a n/a 172 hp doesn´t sound bad.

How hard is to do this swap?

possibly different mounting points.. i dont see the ds mount at all..normally on our cars u can see it...also since its a newer motor there might be more/extra sensors/wires that our harness ecu dont have?..axle differences....could be a number of reasons why no one had done it..

since the 63T is so easy to do that is why its the norm for the swap in these cars.

Some European models of our C60/70 Lancers got the 4g92 motor setup. Very rare, but they exist - whether swapped or not.

Those engines were not available in the US and make way less power under the curve than a 63t. I'd be surprised if anyone here swapped one unless the engine was close to free.

Is a shame takes a lot of work fit a 4g92 mivec in our cars, the car could looks very unique with it!.

I`ll post some pics of what this guy is doing.
