Don't know if it has already been covered but has anyone ever tried an Evo III Crossmember in a 3G CSM for the AWD trans? I have one and will be test fitting it when I get back stateside and will be using it in my 4g sedan evo AWD swap but figured I'd give it a try first

If it doesn't bolt right in it will probably be very close. As far as OE pieces this is probably the closest to being a direct bolt-in; other than the Cyborg member of course.

Yeah when I was stripping the Evo it looked very similar. I'm assuming people don't use them because their hard to find... Thanks for the info I hope I find it bolts right up

3g's used the mounts on the engine block while the early evo's used the 2g style mounting points on the transmission case. I'm guessing it won't work but hopefully I'm wrong.

So the solution may be to employ a 2g transmission. Maybe the contact points will line up with the existing points on the chassis.

I almost want to disagree with that because it looked exactly like the one I use. I'll have to snag a picture and upload shortly

Are you positive about that? I thought they had the 3 mounts on the transmission case like a 2g dsm?
