Does anyone know the pitch and length of the two bolts that hold the driver side intermediate shaft to the block? I am going to the dealership tomorrow to pick out two new bolts. Also everyone that has not used the ac bracket, how many washers did you use between the block and axle to make it equal? I misplaced my ac bracket when I was taking from the donor car.

10x1.25 is the bolt tread can anyone confirm for sure? I'm going to Mitsubishi dealership tomorrow. How long is the length of those bolts? How many washers has everyone used to make up for the ac bracket not being there?

The spacing you need is 8mm.

ive used washers and spacers before got them the exact same thickness as the bracket and the bolts were grade 8.. and they still broke off in the block.. so for the past 5 years I have never ran one without the ac bracket... but it just might be my luck there lol.

I run the AC bracket as well, I wouldn't even consider stacking up washers.

I'll look for another ac bracket. But is that the correct tread pitch? 10x 1.25? How long is the bolt? I'm going today, but in case can't find for car because of age. I'm going to ask for at least couple grade 8 bolts

Thanks

Make sure you have a VIN for a turbo car, because they won't be able to find the proper setup for the two piece axle without it, or so they will say sometimes.
They can build a C53a car regardless, they just usually pester people about having a VIN for exact parts, no returns, or blah blah blah. Hope you get a nice counter person.
Grab an AC bracket, and use loctite and properly torque those bolts in place. Chase the threads in the block before installing the bolts if the holes have been left out in the environment without bolts installed for any length of time. More than likely you will have to jack up the car and use some spare bolts to confirm the thread pitch of the holes, if nobody has an exact answer for sizing. Yes, it is likely M10 x 1.25 but I cannot say 100%, but I can say definitely use the factory bolts torqued to spec with blue loctite.

Appreciate it. Yea my car has been up on jacks for couple days. Switched out trans for new one, new axles, dp gasket, thermostat, and using aircraft remover to take off paint from rims I bought. I don't know why someone painted these oz rally rims, I'm liking the chrome hidden underneath. :)

Do yourself a favor and buy the correct bolts. They have a taper on the end. I have heard of a lot of people that had bolts break off in the block when using ones from the bolt/hardware store.

Will do. Iv learned my lesson on that Long ago. I just got the ac bracket piece for the one side of the intermediate bracket from a good friend. I also got the taper bolts. I'd hate to have to drop Motor to drill out broken bolts ( Iv had my share of that, no fun). But on a good note, I picked up my new passenger axle today & a Mitsubishi front grill insignia. Tomorrow morning is all down hill.

There is a factory washer for cars with no a/c that you can get fyi. And just have them order the bolts too while you're at it.
