I'm having trouble justifying $2,000+ on a front AND rear LSD for my mirage (using a 1G AWD drivetrain)

Are there any other solutions?!

I'm tearing my hair out trying to overcome this obsticle.

It LOOKS like I might weld the Front + Rear differentials along with the Transfer case in order to get the power distribution the way I want.

Anyone, please ring in with help...

Why do you need LSD's?

All DSM AWD transmissions have an viscous LSD center diff from the factory, and most of them had a viscous LSD in the rear diff as well (3 bolt and 4 bolt), unless it's a GVR4 diff that you're using. The only open diff is the front, and most people have no issue with this.

What he said^^. I have no issue with the stock center and rear viscous couplers and open front diff. It launches pretty darned hard, and with virtually zero torque steer. I can also pull in my driveway without dragging tires and stretching my entire chassis to it's limit.

When I had a spool in place of my center diff, I could hear my C/V joints popping all the time, and the load on my suspension parts when parking it was giving ME a stress headache, so I can only imagine how my car felt.

Whatever you do, please don't weld the transfer case, that would be a severely pointless waste.

I've learned something new today!

I was told that 1G AWD had open diffs all around. (The drivetrain is from a 92 Eagle Talon AWD 4 bolt)
I think I need to be more careful about the sources of info I hear or read...

I had no idea the front was the only open differential.

Now that, that is settled I can move on.

I can't thank you guys enough for this solid info! (I did check my rear diff and it is indeed a LSD)
