being that its thanksgiving this week. I have the entire week off. which means COLT TIME!!!!

I started by drilling a 2'' hole in the floor under the seats, and using a sawzaw to take out remainder of the area.

I bought a Notcher a few weeks back, Just for this reason. I've been dying to use it, and today i got to do just that. I measured between the crossmember, and the cross bar i made. and notched two pieces of pipe.. Got them right on the first try.

then welded it.

I plan on running full interior. So the rear seat pan had to go back in. I welded the pieces that i cut out to fit the conecting tubes back in..

Ignore the splatter on this pic.. I got bored and thought "wonder what happens when you weld a penny.." It ended in a shitload of splatter. fml

and then welded the seat pan back in.

all the sheet metal is just tacked in right now, I do plan on stitch welding it, and then using seam sealer on the rest of it. No point in welding it completely.

There wasnt really anywhere to weld the round tube under the car. i plan on designing my cage off that inner bar, and i wanted everything tied together.

nice.. it looks good and running the cage off that is a good idea.. I never seen anyone do it like that before that's why I asked.

when I do my awd im using a ford rear end..and that design might work perfect for my setup.. keep up the good work.

Using a 8.8 has been in the back of my mind, so this will also work for that. if i was to get pist off enough about the 4bolt. I can cut out the rear cross member and weld 4link brackets to that inside bar.

The reason i deceided to base the cage off of that, Where the seatbelts bolt up is one of the strongest points of the car. Its super thick right there. No possible way of a cage leg busting threw the sheet metal if i was to be in a accident and roll the car.

Please do. I want to go awd soon and plan on using a crossbar on the cage like that for the 4link and solid rear. Its coming along nicely.
