Alll of the engine mounts are made and solid as fruit and banana! i still have some gusseting to do, and connecting the wheel wells to the new frame rails.

but its coming along nicely so far.

Lookin good, I see an angle finder on the head, how much forward tilt does your engine have, and what surface on the body of the car did you use to level it?

I had poly engine mounts, and before I cut it apart I took the angle from a few different areas. And made sure I matched it when I welded everything back up. The factory stuff was 10* forward tilt and level from drivers to passenger sides. So its back to the factory degrees.

Looking good man and nice to see you making constant progress. Word of advice, don't stop or you'll get bored or tired of it. 8)

Ask me how I know that?

been working on it slowly, having a 9month old baby and working 40+ a week doesnt leave me much time to do much of aynthing..
But

I got my FMIC mounted and braced

The manifold and FMIC tuned out exactly how we pictured it would. turbo will dump directly into the FMIC
Image
Also, My goood friend finished my manifold.. Masfab reverse topmount. had to wait on one of the WG runners to figure out which way it had to point to clear the compressor housing. I'll get more pictures of it once its completely done.

Pretty much have NO core support left besides the top piece and headlight brackets. All of which have been stiffened up with 1/4" rount stock. So now that the front end is pretty much how i wanted it, minus a few things. I'll pull everything back out. and finish shaveing/welding everything up.

Going to get a extra drivers side head light and make a ramair box of some sort that i can bolt in while at the track to shove air down its throat.

Looking good. Having the turbo reversed should make your life much easier. I believe the shearer on gsx's had the turbo reversed also.

a little update for those of you that may still follow this, if there is any...........

Most of the front end fab is done.it was time to start putting in brakes and harness. and it was time for paint.. Since i'm shooting to get this thing done ASAP i said hell with it and used dupont black stray in bed liner. it seems to be holding up pretty well.

I did away with the 50lbs brake pedal setup that comes factory on these turds for a wilwood single pedal set up. It has a 1" wilwood tandom master cly incase of a line failure, I'll have brakes to atleast 2 of 4 wheels. and with doing this, ment i had to relocate all my brake lines/proportion valve..
(forgot to get a pic of the pedal.)
Image

I installed the "front" chassis harness back into the car and then took it back out and put it in, and back out once more. and ended up with this....

Where is the fusebox you ask

Image

its absolutly insane how much wires are NOT needed in that front harness. easily have half of what i started with. You only need 5 wires to run the entire front end.. Low beams, high beams, L&R turn signals and corner lights. the rest is just junk. I was able to cut out almost 4' of actual harness by moving it also. Its not mounted yet, as i am wanting to put the dash back in and find a comfortable, easy place to access it if needed.

I'll be updating this alot more now that its warm and i have everything to put it together.

Also, I sold the Gt4202 last week in favor for something ALOT smaller.
