Im currently starting a awd swap with the evo engine that i have

the parts im usig are from a 6g galant "i think thats the model its kown as"

well last night we trial fitted the awd gearbox with the spare gti galant 4g63 non turbo that is from the galant we are using

after fitting the engine and gearbox we noticed that the engine and gearbox is sitting wrong and sits at an angle

i havnt got pics at the moment but i can take pics to show the angle it sits at, but also only the gearbox mount will bolt up but the mount on the cylinder head will not line up.

the car its going into is a glx uk model and not the gti, as far as i can see both models are exactly the same under the bonnet and chassis legs etc

all i can thik of is the awd models front chassis legs are modified at the factory to accept the bigger galant gearbox but i cant find any pics of non awd and awd models front chassis legs

can anyone shed any light on what is the problem and possibly provide any pics of the front awd chassis legs to see the diff between them and the glx uk model

mike

I doubt anyone here will be able to help you out as we didn't get any of those models here in the states. But hopefully someone will be able to point you in the right direction.

No difference on GLX and GTI chassis in EU.
I think you use a bad gearbox mount or crossmember ...
Pics please.

The only way we could help you is with pics, it's hard to describe what your talking about with out seeing it.
