Not sure why you would want to use that, it's a weaker non-lsd version of the dsm awd subframe.

It's not like a c50 mirage , it has a wierd bar that connects the wheels, instead of being strait like this []----[] it is is shaped like: []-__-[]

the "[]" is the weels and just imagine the "-" and the "_" are conected by a verticle line.

I have never seen this setup except on c10's and hyundai scoupes.

Making it fit would require completly redesigning the back of the car.

Oscar

que pasa?

Up here I've seen the older square style 87 awd wagons with shocks not struts and drums. The newer 90 style awd summits / expos have independent rears like the dsms.

Those older vans where big too and look heavy so I think a rear out those will work fine on a light weight c12 hatch.

In all honesty it may be simpler to just go with a solid axle instead of trying to get dsm/expo parts to work.

What ever you do take lots of pictures!

Better late than never, I guess :)

I couldn't find this info when I was looking for it, so I posted pictures as soon as I had some:

If I had choice, I wouldnt' use it over the DSM rear because:

- Drum brakes (supposetely ABS came with discs, but they are ultra rare)
- Non-LSD pumpkin
- Oddball axles.
- 4 lug hubs (abroad, some RVR's had 5 lugs)

My goodness, that does NOT look like it could hold up to any significant amount of power at all.

Tough to say, the pumpkin support is similar to the 2G and those do crack (especially on 2.3/2.4 motors). I guess I will find out later this year 8)

Fortunately, I do have a spare rear end with axles!

From the looks of it a conquest rear subframe might bolt right in there.

I see what you mean, it is a similar lay-out, but from what I remember, it is much larger. I have some photos at home of Starion rear end, I can post them later.

Edit: 88 Starion ESIR rear end:

I would not call this a bold-in ;).

i would go with dsm rear end. if i really start to get board i am going to. 2 reasons. 1 besides the fact that the rear ends on the 2g and 3g are not even close to the same, the whole rear end is removed from the 3g to put the awd rear end in. really. its bolted right up to mounts that have to be welded to the frame rails, right? that can just as easly be done on a c10. the only real problem would be strut mounts. so, thats where you would really have to get createv. so i would build new ones. it really cant be that hard if you think about it.
