It would appear that people have had issues using a FWD control arm (Lower Control Arm) when switching to AWD.

Anyone here run into this when attempting to use the AWD swaybar?

I imagine that most people are sticking with factory turbo sway bars and are modding just the rear mount for the motor/trans then?

Well that explains it. The sway bar crosses over at a totally different spot so the rear mount will clear the xfer case.

Someone on here already cut/welded/modified the JDM rear mount to clear the US spec sway bar.

It was Coltsfan who had the complete rework of even the factory AWD rear mount to make it fit through the proper area.

First page pics of what he had to do - before and after shots:

Yeah that was me. I didn't have any issues with the control arms, but the LHD sway bar doesn't clear the factory AWD rear mount.

I imagine the RHD sway bar would clear it, but I don't know if it would fit a LHD car.

I made a new rear mount using the 2 bolts that hold up the crossmember and using the rack&pinion mounts for strength. It clears the factory(non turbo) swaybar and the transfer case fits great. I have yet to put in axles but so far everything else has gone good. I do not have any brace going from the bottom of the radiator support to the firewall but now I may make a brace for strength.
