The cheapest route is to buy the cheap eBay coilovers for a 1g AWD DSM and then do the research to find out what spring rates work best for a drag car, then order the springs from summit racing or someplace like that. The springs that come in the eBay kit are garbage. I'm in the process of doing this with my Mirage, and I went with 250# QA1 springs up front and 200# in the rear, but I daily-drive my car and wanted it to have decent ride quality. I will make a post and let everyone know how it works when it's done.

Most of those eBay coilover kits use a 2.5" diameter spring, and I ordered 7" tall springs for the front and 10" tall springs for the rear for my CSM, which has 1g AWD suspension on it already.

My car is a FWD drag car so I need them a bit stiffer than you would want for an AWD car. An AWD car you want some weight transfer to help with traction. I havent decided the struts yet, but probably nothing special since the springs will be so stiff I wont really need anything with adjustable dampning. I do want to use a shock in the front that is an insert so I can cut the perch and weld on a small sleeve to hold the Coilover sleeve up so I have more room for the tires up front.

Im also going to make a limiter strap setup for the front, I think I can probably make something bolt on that I could maybe sell around here.

Bilstein's for a 1g AWD and have them custom-valved to match your spring rate.

those would be pretty expensive from what I have heard in the past.

It's about $600 to buy a set of 1g AWD Bilsteins and have each one custom-valved. Same as buying a set of Koni Yellows. IMO, it's totally worth it if you care about the handling and ride-quality of your car, but if you're building a drag slut it's probably not worth it.

well I have been thinking about it and have come up with a possible solution. I am thinking some ground control coilovers for a 1g, and kyb gr2's all around 1 g in the front and mirage turbo in the back. think that would work? I was also thinking about getter a really tall spring for the back so I would not have to slam the front as much.

If you think you're gonna swap out springs I wouldn't even waste my money on ground controls, just get some cheap eBay coilovers and then do your research to find out what length springs will work best for you, then buy some springs from Summit. Doing that is still cheaper than buying a set of ground controls, and you'd still have to change out the springs anyway, know what I'm saying?
