I figured I'd make a thread on my colt project but unfortunately there won't be many updates until I can get it to PA

The Car:
89 Plymouth Colt E

The Plans:
4g Swap
AWD
Custom front cross members for front and rear engine mounts
Shep Trans rebuild still debating on stage 1 or 2
Big ol Front Mount
DSM Link
Wideband

The Progress so far:
4g is in
Stripped the interior expect for the dash
Sound deadening removed
Pulled the rear end from the talon and all suspension

The Pictures:
El Colto

Talon bumper hanging out

Ready for the swap

aaronsbig16g came over and we got the engine out of the talon and swapped the colt, he also took these pictures

All swapped up and what have ya

15 pounds of sound deadening

Things still to do:
Get the car to PA
Remove the dash
Wire up the swap
Remove unnecessary wiring
Make the cross members for the front and rear engine mounts
Mount up the rear end
Shorten the drive shaft
Looking into making a custom aluminum dash

Very nice.

I have Talon bumpers from the '91 and '92 body styles. I was considering trying them on the Colt. Currently it is wearing a '91 Laser front end with a lip added. Post a pic of that '91 Talon bumper when you get it mounted please. I am very interested. Thanks.

Little Update

My dad finally cleared out a spot for me in his garage.
Got the 5 lug conversion on the front almost done, apparently I failed to read somewhere that the colt tie rod ends don't fit in the dsm spindles so I have to go pull the ones from my talon as soon as its not raining.
Started trimming the talon bumper to fit the colt, got one side done.

The colt tie rods ends will fit the talon knuckles perfectly, you just have to invert them.

I want to see this car finished, with a color-matching bumper of course. :wtg:
