Scott,

I think that most people are bothered by the fact that you are "ruining" a nice DSM to get parts which can be obtained from a $500 parts car.

If you look at this from economic standpoint, it makes little sence:

90 parts are NOT dresirable:

-weak, 3 bolt rear end
-poor shifting/crappy syncrho tranny
-oddball transfer case
-oddball shifter/cables (not compatible with 91-94 cars).

And the rest of the parts (ECU, throttle body, CAS and much more) are not interchangeble with 91+ cars.

However, as a well running car in good condition, 90 cars worth about as much as their 91+ counterparts.

What would I do? Fix-up (if needed) and sell the 90 car and buy 92-93 DSM with a blown motor and/or bad body. Not only will you get better parts (4 bolt rear end and much better shifting tranny), your will be able to re-sell the rest of parts that you do not need!

Buying 90 car for its parts was a mistake...

Leon

If you can, I would not get rid of the parts car until you are finished with the swap. Its always nice to go back and pull something off of it.
