I had this very common noise on my 92 talon. Its most likely going to be your pinion bearing. I changed mine with a new mitsu bearing and didnt even measure anything (dont have the correct tools) or change anything else. No more noise. Its been running low 12s for 4 years since without the return of the noise or any related problems. The ring and pinion didnt show any unusual wear marks, but the pinion bearing was still the cause.

I have the same noise on another 92 that I have to fix.

Yeah to update this thread I changed my driveshaft, no change.

So i guess this leaves the noise to my rear diff. Not a big deal as i am swapping out the 3 bolt and going 4 bolt anyways. Maybe that will fix that noise somewhat lol.

I can definaly hear the noise coming from the rear diff now... and also a whining coming from it while coasting to a stop.
