Basically I am buying an AWD gas tank and driveshaft in the next few weeks. Is the sending unit different from FWD to AWD cars? Thanks, mark

:( Clarification, please. I was just getting ready to buy a '91 Eclipse AWD gastank. I had assumed that my fuel pump (Walbro 250 from my old tank) and sending unit would work. I thought that this would be better than a fuel cell. Are you saying that my old sending unit and companion fuel pump will not fit the AWD tank? Should I use the sending unit from the AWD gastank? Should I put the Walbro into the AWD fuel pump frame? Thanks.

OK. Got it. :-? Just wondering, as to whether the FWD dashboard fuel guage will be accurate (within reason) using the AWD tank and sending unit. It seems that it would, but I just wonder. Thanks for saving me some irritation.

On the AWD tank, the fuel pump and sender are mounted together on one holder in the tank. They are connected to a circular top entirely different from our usual pentagon shaped device.

Not to hijack the thread but why does my 94 colt AWD have what appears to be 2 pumps?

What is your location per the rules when you join the site and can you take a picture of your fuel pump assembly or get one off the net to show those of us that don't have one apart, what you are referring to.
