I have a '92 Eclipse subframe for my AWD conversion(yes, I am still trying to get it done). This thing needs to be taken apart, resurfaced, and bushings replaced. I have a lead on a NEW '92 Gallant AWD subframe. Can I use this as well as the 1st gen Eclipse? Does anyone have a list of the rear subframes that can be readily used?

I will be using a 91 GVR4 rear subframe on my Elantra conversion. You just have to remove the 4WS components and put a 40mm freeze plug in the pumpkin where the pump was. It has the 4 x 114.3 rear hubs as well that match the CSM's bolt pattern. There is a pic of mine in my Elantra thread.

Where in the world did you locate a new one?

90-94 1G subframes,

91-92 GVR4 subframes.

Replace ALL bushings while subframe is on the floor. Replace all rusted nuts and adjustment bolts too.

 Well, it depends on what people mean. Unfortunately, my man only meant the crossmember support bar, you know, that large, beefy, V shaped thing. I told him I wanted the whole works sans shocks and rotors. You know, trailing arms, upper and lower control arms, etc. "Oh [gosh]," says he. "That would be $1,000, or more." "Well, never mind (or words to that affect)", says I.

Thanks to Mr. Hyde. That is exactly what I am trying to do right now.
It is apart and in the process of clean-up. Any good handle on bushing suppliers?
