That's the only thing that is not installed. I will hook it up when I get a chance. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I had this problem on the Excel after I'd reinstalled the tank. Turned out I'd wedged the vent line which was stopping the air from escaping and it was instead bubbling up the filler tube.

I can see that there is next to no chance that your vent tubing is blocked but I notice that tank is a little worse for wear: have you tried blowing through the vent line to make sure it is not blocked internally?

I can blow air into and suck air out of the tank via the vent line.

Is there a chance that my angles just aren't cutting it? The gas is not able to fill into the tank quick enough?

Just from looking at these pictures

I would say that you need to incrase the angle going to your tank quite a bit.

I did increase the angle more and upgraded the size of that last bend to a 2.0" stainless mandrel bend.

Stock tanks seem to go straight down and 90 right into the tank. Guess I'll have to put a fuel filler in my trunk. Ugh.

Dude, that would be sweet! You could be like an old-school Corvette with the gas filler in the middle of the trunk. 8)

Not yet. I'm going to toss on that blue one way valve (at the tank for the charcoal canister) and try again.

When I unscrew the gas cap, there is no whooshing pressure. Maybe that has something to do with the positive pressure of the fuel in-air out while pumping.

This is still an issue. I installed the blue one way valve. I re-piped the piping to the fuel filler with stock sized hard pipe and wide bends. Still immediately overflows.

I got pretty pissed so I did this.

now its even WORSE. WORSE!! It instantly clicks the pump off, I can barely get .25 gallons dispensed. What am I missing here???? There are NO restrictions

Fixed! I pulled the whole tank and checked all the lines. I thought the vapor line was the most important line for air exit. Turns out the hard line on the very top of the tank with that blue valve on it was clogged with a pebble. I cut the line after the clog, put everything back together and it works flawlessly.

The top line is where the air evacuates from, not the vapor line which I thought.

Nice job. I was going to respond earlier, but quite frankly you had exhausted everything I could think of already. Well, at least you got it...but not before you chopped a hole in your trunk

Hey by the way, are you AWD guys using DSM AWD gas tanks in your mirages? I've got a AWD rear sub-frame just laying around and figured I'd make use of it by converting a mirage hatch, and I like the idea of using the stock tank.
