well 2gs are much wider than 1gs so you might have a issue with the awd sticky out. also why would you wanna part out a 2g awd i say sell it and get awd parts from a 1g. 2g dsms are too nice to part out

also forgot to mention that 2g awd suspension is soo different than that 1gs and you may have alot of problems too the swap to a colt. so my opinion is that so 1g stuff trust save you alot of headaches.

im sure its not impossible but you would be the first... just keep that in mind and remember there are lots of pics and documentation of the 1g rear swap into a CSM around here.

 Damn! I hate to have to show how unknowledgeable I am. I am still gathering parts while trying to get my car together. I have a 1gDSM with a 3bolt. I have an awd tranny and new flywheel. I also have the 4bolt cups and axles. I had planned to use vr4 hubs, but ran into confusion. I did find a 2g Talon being parted, so I bought EVERYTHING=rear end, hubs, knuckles, brakes (including the booster and master), front and rear axles, and transfer case. I have vr4 front hubs now. I got the idea of putting in the 2g and using the hubs all around, and doing a 5lug wheel. Now, I am lead to believe that the 2g rear end is not a "good thing". What is your take on using the 3bolt 1g rear, converting it to a 4bolt from the 2g rear, and use the 5lug wheels and brakes. I am after more width. I am going to cut and flare the fenders. :ANAL:

Bill from what I have gathered the 2nd gens don't use a "4bolt" rear. Its a completely different setup. Unless you feel like laying your own tracks on your swap I say sell that stuff and source up some 1g components.
