WHOOOT!! I got my driveshaft back from the driveline shop today. VERY nice job I must say.

The Middle piece is the front section of a stock DSM driveshaft with the U-joint removed. The bottom piece is the rear carrier bearing removed from the two rear sections of the driveshaft. The Top piece is the modified rear piece.

And now when I combine the new piece with the original front section, I get this!

All I need to do now is fab up a mount for that carrier bearing, finish the ehxaust, and fill it up with fluids!

So I woke up early to get a start on the car, I had to fabricate the mount for the carrier bearing in here:

I started by making brackets like these with holes for the studs.

Tacked them up into place

WHOOT!!!

Thanks! yeah its close, but they aren't touching, nor will they. I did drive it around the block today. Come to find out the trans I got for it is VERY bad. :-( such a bummer. I'll get a replacement transmission before the week and give it another shot.

Thanks for the compliments guys! John, you are going to hell. j/k! Your help certainly was very usefull and I dont think I could have gone through this swap as smoothly as I did without it. But in my defence, I bet you i'll go faster then 98 mph in the 1/4!
