:D Thanks, Geof. I knew you were there, but I wanted to wait until I was alittle more knowledgeable before asking questions.

:( :( Well, today was BAD news. I got the car up in the air with the front off. Some frame bends go back past the firewall. Pulling it all out and welding a front clip on is impractical. I had a good donor body at P&P, but they won't let me use any spark producing equipment. Moreover, I can't take out a large section and return the parts not needed. Gotta take it apart there (cold, rain, gravel, help) all difficult to arrange. So, now I'm looking for a shell to start over. I may have a big garage sale later. (I haven't quit on the AWD project either.) I am seriously thinking about the one in Salem, IN. That's a long drive, apprx. 650. Silky

Just waiting for reply's. The Colt in Detroit doesn't run and the seller won't ship, the one in Fairfax and the one in NY don't answer, either. The NY guy has a shell, and will drive to Jersey terminal point. A best deal that I can make in one day. Renting a storage shed, and the 4bolt rear and AWD flywheel is on order.

Bill there is a guy named Alan that runs www.Carolinadsm.com that has a black 91 NT Colt for sale. He started on the AWD swap and lost interest. I believe he is asking $500 but that may be negotiable. PM me for details if interested.

Oh yeah, this is Chris. You met me in Emporia and sold me your turbo seats.

I'm so glad someone saved this. I was bummed when it was taken off their server.

Not to complain, but wasn't there more than this?

I think there was more, but at the time I wasnt worried about it disappearing so I only saved what ones I thought were important.

Anyways it is now in the gallery under my awd stuff (http://gallery.4g61t.org/v/colt200/awd_ ... S.doc.html), if somebody (moderator) wanted to put it in the archive it probably would save some questions about an awd swap from new people that dont like to use the search function. Good luck to anybody that wants to make awd colt/mirage.

Is that 2nd link to yours? or the one you sent me.

I'm getting my metal that i need this week. and hoping to start on it this week. I love the way The M&S one turned out. and the ways he did it. So i'll be doing mine simular to his. I'll also be doing a write up most of the way..

Thats the same one that I sent to you, I dont think I could remember enough stuff to do a write up on it myself. When you start the project it really makes you appreciate the people that did it before and made documents for it, like John (M+S) and Jason (I believe thats Lilevo?). Thanks.

Just an update: I got the donor/recepient. (A real fun car. Almost reluctant to tear it up. It is such a fun "beater.") 4bolt and AWD flywheel on way. Got the M&S write up downloaded. Rented a storage unit to keep parts together.
Is a the center differential a part of the 4bolt rear, or is that a separate part to be acquired? Also, I understand that a 4spider center differential take the place of a ltd. slip diff. on the FWD. This being so, I understnd that there is no need for my Quaife Ltd. slip.? :( That thing was expensive. Maybe TRE will give me a deal. Silky Bill

The center diff is part of an AWD tranmission. Within the AWD tranny is a front diff (stock is open) and a center diff (stock is 2-spider viscous LSD, if I'm not mistaken).

The fact that a center diff has been upgraded to a 4-spider does not have anything to do with the front diff. So no, a 4-spider center differential does not take the place of a ltd. slip diff. on the FWD.

To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,
To the last syllable of recorded time;
(Shakespeare, "MacBeth") And so it seems with me. Working on the interior removal now. Terribly slow. :(
Got the AWD flywheel; looking for the rear end. No actual work. I hope to buy LilEvo's planned CD on the subject. Look for it.
