Sigh, I'd love to do an EVO2 conversion. Ebay body kits are like $600+, that doesnt even include shipping or a rear spoiler.

Looks like I'm going to end up with a 89-92 sedan again. I've gotten a few links, but $1000+ is just too much.

The front right has severe frame rail damage. Front right control arm is mangled, wheel is pushed so far back into the fender we needed a 4WD truck to push the car up onto a trailer. The impact sent my custom front crossbar/front rubber/metal motor mount into the turbo which quickly snapped the, pardon my technical vocabulary idiocy at 3am, big aluminum plate the compressor wheel sits on. It also snapped my aeroquip oil cooler line fitting at the oil filter housing which is all the smoke in the video. There were a couple quarts in the pan when I drained it, all black minus any metal. Radiator was full, so it survived, as did the transmission, axles, xfer case, all wheels and tires, intercooler and piping, including the TiAL which WAS mounted underneath the passenger headlight which got completely obliterated. The right rear lower control arm/ball joint is mangled because the rear of the car took the second hit.
Just to clarify...

Is it mostly body damage that fux0red everything up? I know the front custom motor mount and the turbo are toast, but is everything else fine to put into the next shell?? All I'm asking, is it mostly body/frame/suspension damage? The guts are fine?

If anyone is interested in the frame let me know.... I'll be taking the rear subframe, but if you brought any 1G subframe (doesnt even need the diff) you can bolt it up and dolly/roll the car home. Front rotors and hubs are brand new, I would imagine the front part of the frame can be tweaked back.

For all of you that want an AWD mirage, here's your chance :)

It's a terrible loss. Lilevo was an amazing car. I can only imagine what you are going through after you put so much into that car. Just remmeber that you are alive. I hope that you can get lilevo2 going soon. Good luck and glad that you are ok.

Damn........... :(

I felt the same way the day my 66' Mercury ParkLane W/410cu. in. Marauder motor went to the wreckers..... God i miss that car!

Dude i 'm sorry to hear that happened.

Damn lilevo, its like a board member died or something.

You'll pull through as soon as you have your hands on another car. You'll always remember your first though....

Wow, I thought the thread title was a joke.

There's a big bag of sucks, worst part is probably that it happened right before the shootout too. Glad to see that there is a good bit that's salvagable.

Well hey, now you can build something better. I had plans next year to start on a (1600 lb) 5 door Geo Metro with 4G63 and GSX drivetrain, you should build one first! No fun in building another 4 door mirage, you's already done that to the max.

me thinks since jason has prior knowledge of this project that he should stick to the same car type. its smaller than later mirages and i would assume lighter too. also he could improve by making it a 2.4 liter monster and lightening it up a bit some more... he listed his car as 2550 lbs and i assume he didnt even try to lighten it up a bit... i feel that if he tried to lighten it up, he could get it at least to 2000lbs.. that, my friend is a really light weight car which sits four to five medium sized adults has nice trunk space and is a real sleeper.. the later model mirages are heavier unless he went with a two door. but then he would lose the family sedan comfort.. he would also be able to get parts that we would offer for the 1989 models in here.. this is just my opinion though..
