Just a note. The rear end and axles arrived. Main car is virtually stripped. Motor on the 1.5 is ready for muscle. I'm beginning to see some differences in the GT vs. the production model. I didn't mind the absence of a rear wiper. I had decided to let that go, but I did want a remote hatch latch. I am going to need some body welding. My friend,1japdsm, or his previous owner, had used way too much bondo on the lower rear wheel panels. No problem. Just cut out that section, and put one in from the donor GT. We planned body work there anyway.
I'll be gone for a week to Marietta GA (nnw of Atlanta). Anybody there?
Side question: is there an easy way to remove the temp & vent panel? It seems that the temp and vent selection knobs do NOT readily come off.
NOTE: Jason Tannin, aka.,LilEvo, has completed his CD on AWD conversion. Price $50. Go to his website. Mine is on order.

Oh it's much more than a CD :) It's a 720x480 DV quality 2 DVD set of the process! Just too much video to pack onto 1 DVD!

Looks like you wil get it just in time!

:) I've been out awhile, so here"s an update: My car is major stripped. Got a space to work on the "creation"; moving was a batch. OK. 1.5 motor is out. Today I got the hatch and doors off. Tomorrow I plan to start on front seats, steering wheel, and dash (using my new service manual  ) All major AWD components obtained: AWD tranny, transfer case with 4-spider diff, drive shaft, rear cross control and boomerang bar, 4-bolt rear diff., rear axles and cups. What am I forgetting? Later

:) Ahh, back to the site. Well now I have the only TRUE Colt/Mirage. I stripped my Mirage donor car COMPLETELY, Cut it in half, sandblasted the front section. On my Colt wreck, I stripped all except the rear hatch and tail lights. I then got a buddy body shop to slice and dice and put the the two parts back together. So, I now have a complete Colt/Mirage stripped out shell for reassembly.
That said, I plan to do the AWD conversion at the same time. So now is the time for planning on steps to go. The first thing is to redo the control arms and shock holders. A little sand blast, paint the control arms, and powder coat the shock holders.

EDIT: Now that I am getting into the "E" age, I have finally learned how to make and move pics. So here are some showing what I described above: Image
this is the donor cut up and cleaned.

this is the two cars put together

Here is the finished car ready to be reconstructed.

:) Boy, has it been a long time. I got "laid up" for about two months from torn muscles in the Glutes (?). Figure. Also, I had to move my vehicle garage twice, get a new computer, and learn how to get pics. Anyway, I have been doing tear down. Here is my first attempt at pics.
These are pics of the wreck and two in a partially removed state.

Don't laugh (much). But(t)--yeah. And the hood is fiber glassed back to use. However, I am going back to the regular hood with a scoop like I had before. Anyway, I am having great trouble getting images to show, but I will prevail  Later.
