It's probly got 100lbs yanked out of it inside the car

I don't know if the 4g63 is any heavier than the 4g61 though
Actually 100 lbs might be a little high of a guess. But it's got some weight taken out of it

Went back to the track tonight (finally didn't rain) and went 12.3@113 on the first pass. Same setup as the previous posts but with an alignment now (it was way off last time). Axle broke on the second pass. This car has some long 1 piece drivers side axle in it that broke. I'm gunna replace it with the correct axle tomorrow. And hopefully I'll get back to the track Friday.
My buddy is selling me a dsmlink this week to so maybe now that I can tune it I might pick up enough power to get an 11.9 out of this 14b!

? what?

if i can get an 11.9 out of the car, ill be happy, and ill finally put a 16g on.

The 12.3 pass was shifting pretty carefully making sure every gear went in.

If i turn the boost up a little more, drop the 60ft down to a low 1.8 or 1.7, and shift it faster im pretty sure i can shave .4 sec off.

lol what? you think im lying? Heres the dynograph
Image

This is with STD correction, on SAE it makes about 299/317

You can see in the graph that the boost falls off hard.

I dont know whats hard to believe about it, its 300hp in a light car with slicks

This isn't crazy or un-realistic. His trap speeds reflect the kind of power he is making.

im not trying to be insulting. maybe im just not used to 110 octane numbers, 300 whp seems like alot on a 14b/stock motor.

I would run this boost on pump gas if i had something to adjust fuel with. I only have 110oct in there because I'm worried about the lean spike when the boost spikes at peak torque.

As soon as I put the dsmlink on I'll see what it can do on pump. Will prob be Sunday.

just makes me regret not doing my driveline yet so i can turn the boost up on the 16g. i was merely hoping to get into the 12's on pump and slicks, now im curious as to what will happen.

Well its been a long day. I got an awd 1g dsm intermediate shaft from a friend and a mirage turbo axle from carquest. I took that opportunity to install all new carquest ball joints and Mitsubishi tie rod ends. I also installed the superpro bushings for the front control arms.

Put everything back together and go to fire the car up but the engine wouldn't fire. I poked around for a few minutes before I swapped the ecu out for the one I had waiting to go in it with the dsmlink installed

Swapped ecu's and the car fired right up. Weird. No idea how an axle failure could be related to an ecu dying but whatever. I set all the dsmlink settings to stock.

went and took the car out for a test drive on street tires with the laptop logging the dsmlink , looks like the dsmlink says the ecu is asking for 140% injector duty cycle! lol whoops! but the car feels faster than ever.

Another weird thing i noticed, the car starts up perfectly on colt start, and drives around at part throttle much better now with the new ecu, even with everything zeroed out.

well i took it out for a test drive and one of the old all season street tires fell apart :(

looks like no track for me tonight. I think ill install some 550s on sunday, then monday ill dyno it and play with the dsmlink to see if i can get a better tune in there. Then ill hit the track wednesday. hopefully i can get an 11.9 out of it

Wish me luck!

Nice Clay, I'm hoping I can even get into the 12's on my 61t with the 14b It look's and feel's promising. I think now's about the time i let her rest until the warm weather comes back around. Sometimes I'd prefer to be in FL.

Did you hit 11's yet that would be great news. Have any other spec's, timing, afr's @ WOT?

I think it should have gone a little faster on the 14b.. I am making over 300whp with mine and expect it to go every bit of 115mph. Also, why change the well engineered chassis and drivetrain with a heavy and clunky AWD system? I would just like for you to explain to me your thought process.
