Ran a best of only 14.660@92.31 on my second try with the slicks.

I got there yesterday morning and began to mount the wheels. These are jaysmirage's slicks that I was borrowing. Well the universal 4x100 holes would not clear the 4 bolts that bolt the hub to the knuckle. So I pouted for a little while and decided to give it a try on the street tires.

I refuse to launch my car on anything but the two step. First run was a little aggressive. Ran a 16.6@91. Second pass turned down the launch control and lowered the tire pressure some more. Went from a 2.7 to a 2.6 sixty foot. But ran a 15.5@92. So I wasn't about the run slow all day. So I placed a call to dragstr4g61t. He said he had some Nissan wheels we could come down and remount the slicks on. Got there, and the center of the wheel would not clear the ring on the rotor.

So we decided that either way the wheels/rotor had to be ground down. So we just modified Jason's wheels and went with it. I drove back to the track on the slicks as they had not really seen a heat cycle yet. I think it was about 5-7 miles.

Pulled in, turned the antilag back on. Got the tire pressures to 16psi and went down. First pass. 2.1xx sixty foot and 14.7@91. No changes but the tires.

Second pass, went back and lowered the antilag 1* and pulled the launch and antilag down both 100rpm. Lowered tire pressure to 14.5psi.

Rolled down and got ready. Car sounded good off the two step. Oh yea, I raced hemicolt in his 1G on this one. Just tried to make sure that I wasn't going to redlight or bog. Left .162 behind Hemi. Out sixty footed his AWD to a 2.121. Out 330' him at a 6.095 to a 6.136. He came around me at half track 9.206 to a 9.395. I ran the car out in fourth gear to a 14.660@92.31. Not bad for the few parts I have done. All 6 of my passes were 90.7-93.00mph. On street tires or slicks.

The last 90mph run was against Gvr799. He ended up running a 13.8@97mph so I started screaming and shaking my hand as I was running past the 1000ft mark through the traps after I saw the scoreboard light up a 13.8 for him. The 93.00mph run was a street tire run I intended on seeing what the car could pull if I could get in fourth gear early.

In Hemi's defense, he was having issues all day that ultimately ended up in him blowing his headgasket. I can probably crack a 14.5 or a 14.4 with some more seat time and favorable weather conditions. It was a blast, and to see George go from a 15.9@100 on his first pass, to the 13.8@97 to end the day, was well worth it. Even though I didn't get a 13 or 100mph. But after the first pass of the day I knew the car just did not have enough. But the car is dead consistent as am I. All six passes were more or less smooth given the tire combinations I tried. I had two passes on my street tires, two on the slicks and the last two were on George's street tires.

Had fun today i did some shake down passes on the heavy sled it had a leaky headgasket for awhile just got worse as the day went on...All my runs today were 24-25psi execpt for my slowest pass it was at 29psi then and breaking up badly....I ran 3 low 12's fastest being a 12.2 at 120mph not to shaby for 25psi and popped head gasket it got so hot on that pass i had to shut it right down after that pass it was on h and it pucked a qt of oil out the frount of the head gasket......I got a head gasket coming and i will be back to the track soon and might get to see what this car has in it... :drinkers:

Congrads steven with more seat time you will get better i ran low14's at 100mph on pepboy street tires and 1.6l 14b with an exaust, afc, boost controller....Bobby ran 14.00 at 103mph on a 11b with same mods i had exaust, afc, boost controller and he wasn't as gutted as he is now..But you will get it in time... :drinkers:

George you animal busting into the 13's congrads to you and for getting your 100mph sticker as well... :drinkers:

My race weight with laptop, full tank of gas and all today was 2610. There is no way without changing anything it is going to run a low 14 or 100mph. But that is ok. I had fun and to see George crack a 13 was worth it. More parts will make my tank fly. What is in there now is just not enough.

If I can crack a 12 second pass with this car, that will be enough for me. I was dead consistent every pass with my mph. So it is not the driving. There is no way I have to power to over come .7 seconds. In time.

My full weight Mirage Turbo with a T28 (4g61t) on street tires ran 14.5 at 107 with a 60' of 2.3. These cars are a pain to launch with FWD consistently, thats why the AWD Mirage was built.

My 240sx with stock SR20, stock turbo, 11 lbs of boost, stock tires 60' of 2.2 ran a 14.0 at 101 mph.

Good runs guys, too bad I did not get to make it. Oh well, cant wait to get out there again.

I went fast Ricky Bobby.

My best on the street tires was a 14.950 with a 2.517 60' @ 97.35

All my runs were 98.xxx and my very first one was 100.34mph. So I joined the 100mph club. It was a 15.907 with a 2.936 60'

My best of the day

r/t .109
60' 2.059
330 5.802
1/8 8.871
mph 79.49
1000 11.554
1/4 13.848
mph 98.17

I was wired. I had no intentions on making 13's after my first pass was almost 16 seconds.

14b power

I'm completely untuned and my sub box was in the car. 14b power ftmfw!!!

I drove the crap out of my car. I am not making very much power. I was launching with antilag and hooking the best I could. I just don't have what it takes to cut those times. This is like my 30th pass with this car. I think I got it down. Believe me when I say I gave it all it had. The two 14 second runs could not have been any smoother. I am even using NLTS.

I was just glad George got to go fast. That is all that matters. I was there for fun. I believe I raced John on my second pass, and I was all over him, but he pulled me extremely hard on the big end pass the 1/8th.

And I have to thank Bobby as well. Without his help, I would never have cracked the 14's. Thanks for grinding to wheels for me.

My MPH tells the story guys. In time I will make more. You guys had 7-10mph on me. I did my best.
Steven

I concur... Thanks to Steven. I did pick my car up yesterday too. You'll see pics as soon as I can get photobucket to work.

Thanks Booby. :o Bobby.

I think the brand new track had a little to do with the 60'.

They actually shut down one side of the track and re-grinded it.

So I think when the sticky middle line comes back I can cut a better 60' on the street tires. 2.5 is my best.

I think that I was cutting 1.9-2.1 60ft's with drag radials and not anti lag. the new track could have been part of it. Slicks hook way better than DR do. What was your 60ft on the slicks?
