CaptainTonus, ColtGT4g63(Dave), and myself headed out to local 1/8th mile track tonight. This track is in a parking lot, we call it the ice rink (it lives up to it's name).

I took the colt there when I first got it (16G) and ran a ~7.9 @88. Now it's running an FP3065. Smacking the rev limiter through the traps in third I was able to muster a 7.88@98.03. The 195 NT555Rs aren't going to cut it anymore as it spins through 1st and 2nd. There is a lot more let I think, the tune is pretty rough, I think raising the limiter to 8500 or 9000 may help too.

Thought I'd share; I'll let Tonus speak for himself :/ I have video I'll upload when I get a chance. Many of you guys are familiar with my car, let me know if you want more details. :drinkers:

Tonight was a huge, embarrasing failure for myself. Dan did pretty well. I realized that I can't drive for shit, and that track is awful. My best 60' of the evening was a whopping 2.0. Best ET was an 8.2, and best trap was 92.9mph. On my 4th pass I blew a heater hose and discovered what appeared to be oil in my coolant, so I didn't do anymore racing after that. I managed to make it home by cutting the hose and re-clamping it after where it had cracked, but that also broke about 100 feet from my driveway. Oh, I also killed my 2nd-gear synchro--stock trannies suck!

Do you have a good-shifting 1g AWD manual tranny? I could use one of those. Haha.

One positive note on last night: I met a dude that has a '89 Mirage Turbo down there. I had never seen him, or his car before. It's a Red one (go figure), but it's in very good shape. Typical yellowing on the front bumper, and cracked dash and messed-up seats, but otherwise very straight and GOOD paint still. The car is basically stock still, so it was pretty slow down there, but still nice to see other people with C53A's in S.D. :D

He said he's been to the site before, but he's never posted or anything.

I definitely don't need the whole car, and my car already has a 4-bolt in it.

Problem is, you don't know if the tranny is in good shape or not, so my offer is $50.

I have no idea how many spline.

Worked great on the drive across town (last trip the car made that wasn't on a flatbed)

I'm more concerned with how well it will take 9,000rpm shifts. Hehe.

JDM switchable trans = weaker, but their transfer cases are more beefy.

I didn't get the guy's VIN#, no. Sorry. :P
