Yeah, I think that's John that rocks the valve-cover-cooler scoop. Haha.

Honestly, if you're having cooling problems, it's better to have a reverse-facing scoop. If you put a scoop near the valve cover facing backwards it will create a "suck zone" and pull heat through the radiator and intercooler, and then out through the engine compartment. I used to rock a scoop like that on my old 1g, and it helped a LOT. SOOO much hot air came out of that scoop, it was ridiculous. It was a pain in the ass when it rained though, because water would always get in there and seep into my spark plug holes.

This is the exact hood scoop that I used to use:

www.carbontrix.com sells it for $99. Well worth it if you ask me.

its a celica all-trac hood scoop. Don't let him fool you, it wasn't that easy! "I" put about 5 hours of body work and paint into it and it still looks like poop

I think I am going to try to build one (the guys that saw my last scoop are now on the floor laughing)

But I am thinking about trying to build one out of fiber glass. I am going to go to K-mart in a little bit to try to get some of the stuff needed to do this.

my thought is to try to make it out of wood..clay..mabye the green stuff they use to put fake plants in...something.
Make it nice then give it a coating in oil, crisco...something and dip it into warm wax to make a mold. Then form the fiber glass into the wax mold and vacumn pack it using a 12v tire pump I think I still have.
It sounds odd, but if I build my colt I am sure I can figure this out.

Plus the scoop will be done before I do any.....hacking...to my pretty hood.

gonna give it a shot anyway...something is liable to happen
