My C50-4G63 can easily spin up the M/T 8-22-15's in the burnout area in 2nd, but I've never tried a 2nd gear launch. Anyone try this and how does it compare to 1st gear get away?

stick with the 1st gear launch, unless you dump it at 7k.



i tried it when the tranny was giving us problems, and it sucked.

I knew a guy that used to 2nd-gear launch his 2g FWD. He went through like 5 trannies, I wonder why? It didn't really work well for him anyway, just lots of wheelspin and clutch slippage. He was craaaazzzzy.

I tried it once lined up out side the groove and gave it try i ended up fruit and banana up my act 2600 pound clutch...Didn't work out great if you could build boost off the line like a 2-step or ant-lag i bet it would be ok but i not going to try again...

Yeah, my buddy that did it used to use his rev limiter to build boost. He didn't bog it that way. Haha.

LOL...Yeah i launched it around 6000rpm's and said good bye to the clutch the worst part i'm an idiot and thought i was spinning the tires and kept my foot in it...Duh.. Your buddy is nuts but i bet it's fun to watch...

I attempted a 2nd gear launch last year @ the shootout whne I was having linkage issues.
Waste of time, killed the clutch.

Yeah, the gearing just isn't short enough...even on a KM210, unless you launch it off the rev limiter and you have crappy tires. Hehe.
