I've always wondered how would fit 24.5's on my car....I could not find the answers elsewhere so I decided to buy some and see.

I am using these Draglites Weld Wheels with 5.5 inches of backspacing.

On the following pictures, the slicks where mounted so the surface of the wheel is sitting on the stupid hub protruding bolt heads. so i will use a .250 spacer to clear them wich is about the thikness of those bolt heads

I am going with coil overs anyways, but those pics shows how they fit with the oem struts.

I would have went to a 4" or 4.5" backspace, I can defaintly see these rubing when aired down and when they expand.

Yep, they will balloon down the center won't they? Maybe space them out 4" to the outside, like the guy from CT. :D Nice wheel and tire choice though, but coilovers would certainly aleviate the perch spacing issue.

I had those exact same M/T slicks. They were 15's on steel rims. They did not clear the strut on the stock suspension. They did while cruising and sitting(still had to grind them down). Under load at the track or wide open throttle they would just stand up way too tall. Mine stood up a full two inches.

Coltmax,
Any updates on fitment with the GC's? Photos would be nice. What width tires did you go with?

This is what it gives

I had to use 5mm thick wheel spacers in order to clear the brakes and i also had to grind a bit the mag where our stupid bearing hub bolts are protruding.

Results:
1.912 60' on a very slippery track and 7.695 @ 107.73 mph on the 1/8.

My main problem for traction now, are the rear shocks (gr2)... they are bouncing due to the spring rate (250lb) and traction goes on anf off.

But the slick feel good. Rake angle is very limited though and stepping too hard on the brakes will make the fender touch the slick. I will order 7 inches spring for the front instead of 6 inches.
