So I finally got around to going to the track in the swapped colt fir the first time since I've bought the car. It was kind of a disappointing evening on a few accounts. The track made up wait like an hour and a half because the right lane tree wasn't working. Then when they finally opened up left lane only one of the yellows on the tree was out. Furthermore, we couldn't race anyone because only one lane was open, which sucked big time. Also, the track didn't have their air machine to air up tires with, and everyone with air was being pretty dick and I didn't want to ask to hit up their air. So I ended up running with low tire pressure which inevitably led to poor traction and slower times than I was hoping for

Towards the end of the night they finally got the right tree working and opened up the right lane. Thats when I actually started having fun.

Beat every s/c'ed cobra out there. Hung with a HEAVILY modded f-body running high sevens that should have been running 6's if he would put some damn money into his suspension setup. I don't know if it was the track or my tires or a combination of the 2, but I was SPINNING. I was scratching 4th HARD at the end of the 1/8th.

Mods:
gutted-assed 1.5L shell
stock 2.0 + hg and studs
crower stage 3 camshafts not dialed in yet
big 16g
3" exhaust
oldskool afc (non-super)
550's
2g mas
stock sidemount w/ crushbent ghetto pipes
255 rewired
gr2 + some springs? suspension
stock clutch from O-O-O'reily's

Best of the night:
@18 psi
8.28 @ 88.69
no 60 foot times were given at all that night for some reason. yet another disappointment.

I was rather proud of my .589 reaction time though.

Thats the thing, I was on mt 22" slicks :(

The wear pattern on the outsides of the tires indicates that they were, in fact, under-aired.

Damn. Spinning 4th on slicks with a 16g. Sucky. Might as well step up to some 24.5's :)

Yeah, I'm gonna need new slicks soon. I'll probably go with something aroudn 24".

Gonna try to head back out to the track tomorrow night and redeem myself by hitting 7's on the stock shitty clutch before I replace it with the 2500 out of the old gt.
