ok, went to the track yesterday and had disappointing results in my eyes. I think the worst thing a person can do is expect something to happen or expect certain results as most of the time you get a rude awakening. And thats just what happened to me. I got all my tools loaded up by 9am and got to the track by 10:30 even though the gates didnt open till 12. I got a good spot in the pits and put on my new BFG's, went thru tech and everything was going great so far. A few guys seen that i finally got my new tires and came up. We were all bench racing at this point and throwing around times. I said"even if i blow the tires off, i'll still run in the 12's". Well, thats not what i ran. I pulled thru the water box, locked the ebrake even though i new it wouldnt hold the the rear tires, dumped the clutch and held the rpm's at 6500 for 5 seconds and as i got a little smoke the car started to pull the rear tires. At that point i held the rpms at 7000 until i could stop the car safely before the tree. I staged and as the ambers started i was reving the car from 2500-5000 to keep the vaccum as close to zero as I could. I side stepped the clutch at a conservative 4k and floored it. First hooked dead on and then shifted 2nd with no drama and so and so on. They didnt print a 60 foot time(Damnit!) but i went a 13.46 @111mph . As i came back up the return road i knew something wasnt right. The car pulled, but wasnt as violent as it usually is. I got back to the pits and my friend asked me what psi i was running and as i thought back i remembered that during the week i turned it down to 15 psi cause of some crappy gas that i got. So we hoped in the car and left the grounds for a quick run so i could set it back up. I accelerated and only had 13 psi. So i cranked it back up to 20. During my second run i staged the car the same and dumped it ar 6500. Well, now that the car boosted to 20-21 and i blew first right off. I feathered second and lost more time and eased into 3rd. I wasted alot of time!! I ran 13.7 @110. I just wasted that run. I figured the car would just leave harder, but it shocked the tires to hard. My third run was eliminations and i knew i was not even close to being consistant, so i put a dial in of 13.20 on the window hoping i would beat it. Id rather beat my time at this point and lose then losing due to not running even close. For the 3rd run i left the line at 4500 and eased thru 1st and went 3/4 throttle in 2nd and ended up running 12.85 @114. Well i blew the dial in, but finally got into the 12's. WOO HOO! Im being sarcastic!! I have video, but im trying to figure out how to use my new camera software. I'll post them soon. Whats funny is that last year on radials and 10 psi i ran a 13.7 @116 with a 3 second 60 foot time. I plan on getting to the track next saturday to get all this sorted out.

Bosco, I know the feeling man! Car 'could' be going faster, but really, its all about sorting things out and trial and error driving at this point in the season. You should get some slicks...whole different ballgame! Did you boost leak check the car before you went? Plugs OK?
As I see it, you hit 12s on low boost and drag radials with only 3 passes. Not too shabby. 8)

plugs were replace 2 weeks ago with the oil change. I change them every oil change. I didnt boost leak the car though. I was running the DR's with a consistent 20 psi air pressure. They were squatting pretty good at 20psi. I think i need to get more heat in them and go down to 18. Also they are new with a short break in period on the interstate. After that and 3 passes, they still have the little tits on them. Im going to try a harder burn out on them as soon as i can lock the rear tires for my burn out. And also, there is really no tune on the car. After i turned the boost back up, the car was popping a little on the top end at about 6500 rpm so i just added 5% more fuel on the apexi from 5500 to 7000 and the popping stopped. I think it was due to the heat soak and also the 85 degree temps. Humidity was at 20% at an elevation of around 1500 feet. I had 2 gallons(estimated) of 93 octane left in the tank and i cut it with 2 gallons of 115 octane cam2.

I run mine on the street at lower tire pressure than you were running. Might want to try 13psi or so and if you can manage a good 2nd gear burnout then that would be sweet. I know you said the ebrake is not holding the rear for very long so you might want to mess with your ebrake adjustment to see if you can get some more leverage there. Not too bad really on a 205 street tire.

Take the tire pressure down to 10lbs........ leave at 4k, make up the ET and MPH on top end.....

If you want to leave harder.... switch to slicks.......

good runs though... keep at it :)

I have to work this weekend so i wont be making it to the track and i havent found a decent line lock local yet. I will be switching to softer pads in the back, maybe the autozone specials as they are soft and wear quickly. I think i will take advantage of the hks electronic boost controller and leave the line at 10 psi and when i hook in 2nd, click it for 20-25 psi depending on the fuel i buy that day.

You should be able to run around 23-24psi on pump gas no problem if you can't get ahold of some race fuel.

I talked to Nate last night and we went down the list of problems. 1st, I need to do a better burnout. 2nd, I need to run the drag radials between 12 and 15 psi. 3rd, im going to cut 2 gallons of 115 octane cam2 and 1 gallon of 93. 4th, need to leave the line with the boost controller off and turn it on in the middle of 2nd or the end of 2nd, and 5th, turn the boost up to 25-30 psi. Also the rear agx's are only set on 6 so i will crank the setting to 8 which I believe is the stiffist setting. Im not going to expect anything till i run again, but I hope to shave 6-8 tenths with the traction ideas and the boost...Maybe more??? I dunno till next weekend.
