This was qualifying for tomorrow's NHRA sport compact event at Moroso. They put me in quick 16 because I did not have a back seat... Look what Im up against.

Congrats Spoolin! Great driving all around. :D
That 60' time is AWD territory!

Couple of questions....
What diff?
What size/brand slicks?
Suspension mods?

I was eliminated one round before I was in the money :(

So I have been planning on attending this event for about 3weeks now and on thurs I started getting the car ready. Swapped out the stock cams for 264s and re-wired the meth injection as well as re-securing the leaking nozzles. Friday night got the car running and began tuning. After three hours of going up and down with knock counts I called it a night and went home. Saturday morning I made a quick pass on the street seeing a couple counts of knock and loaded the car on the trailer. When I arrived at Moroso I popped the hood and went over the car for the first time in the daylight since the methanol install. I immediately noticed a kink in the feed line that would be limiting flow to the nozzles so I resolved the kink and hoped the car wasnt going to run pig rich and pop now. First round of qualifying I went 12.0@122 a new best et and mph but shy of what I was expecting. Then next round of qualifying I went 11.7@122 with a 1.7 60'. Which of course is better but not good enough. Third and final round of qualifying I backed it up with another 11.7@122 with another 1.7 60'. So I packed up and drove the hour home to set the clock forward and get 6hrs sleep.
Sunday I headed out alot later than expected at 9:30 leaving me an hour to get to the track before eliminations. I ended up making it with about 10min to spare. First pass in elimination's I got a bye run and still went all out. The car didnt want to go in to second so I tried again and it went in, I ran it out to a 12.6@118. Good thing this was a bye run. Now Im getting worried that the tranny may not want to be beat on anymore and start locking me out of gear. So second round of eliminations Im up next to this big scary peurto rican rocket which ended up limping down the track and I won with an 11.9@121. Third round of eliminations I start to get excited knowing that If I win this I get paid. Im up next to a 20b 3 rotor from CFT, he broke out but got the win because they were giving a .5 cushion in this event. I went 11.89 to his 9.0, he won by a couple feet at the finish line. So i had to hold back the tears and load the car on the trailer.
So when I got home I decided to throw the drag radials on and make a pass only to see the wideband off the charts rich. The car was on 93octane all weekend with the meth injection and 25psi. im happy now because I know with leaning the car out and adding boost I should easily surpass 125mph traps. My mod list is all over the site so I will just state whats new. I installed 264's and am running two mcmaster M15 nozzles driven by a walbro 255lph pump for the meth injection.

The slicks are 24.5x8 MT ET DRAGS at 10psi. Heating the tires up off second gear two steps allowed me to hook every pass. Never once did any tire hint at losing traction. This is with a stock tranny and open diff :)

Congrats!

The ladder you were in looks to be full of Puerto ricans and lillte rotary machines.

Nice 60 ft. Launch the pig!

Great job on getting into the 11s consistently. How much pressure do you think are behind those two m15 nozzles? Meth is great at cooling the intake charge but with the amount you are injecting its probably pretty hard to get the A/F to be consistent in each gear.

nice times, what wheel are those slicks mounted on? what trap speeds were you running on drag radial?

We have a similar setup, (minus the meth/slicks) I want to have your times soo bad. I also want to hit 10's this year.

Once again, nice job

I have a used Walbro 255 powering the nozzles, Im guessing they are getting somewhere around 80psi of meth. The nozzles flow 9.49gph@40psi per nozzle. So im probally njecting around 40gph.

I have Nissan Altima steelies I picked up at the junkyard, they fit fine after clearancing for the bolts that hold on the rotor to the hub. Back in the Drag Radial days my best was 12.4 @115 with timing a bit retarded and 12.9@119 with a bit too much timing I think. That was on 22psi and pump gas.

I only ran my car twice at the track on my new setup and my better time was 13.29@112. so damn, that's pretty good 12.4 on drag radial. the nozzles u use are from mcmaster carr?

Was it just not having a back seat that put you in quick 16. I guess you were trying for urbanracer class? I can't find rules to tell me what seperate the two classes. Thanks, Tom

I guess if you have a cage that interfers with the rear seats than they can be removed. I do not have a cage and they said that forced me into Quick16. I think it was just one official that felt that way, as there were others without a back seat running the class I wanted to run, Sport FWD sponsored by Urban Racer.
