Well moroso opened back up tonight so I brought the Mirage to see what its doing on 23psi and pump gas. First run off the trailer 13.2@118. This is using the boostfreak technique not flooring the car till third but Im still spinning 1-2 and part of third. I have bfg drag radial's and they were at 16psi for all run's. It was a humid night and track prep was horrible. Next run out I try to stay out of boost till I know the car is gonna hook, this results in less spin but a 13.6@116. Next pass injector came un-plugged, I need to get some clips. The following pass I combatted wheelspin to a 13.0@119. Still spinning 1-2-and a little in third. Last run was a 13.0@118, so the car has consistent mph. Im not going back without slicks.

I was hoping for mid 120s on pump with this setup so Im a little bit dissapointed. The car is light too, its currently gutted at 2190. It must not be making any power :(

Good to hear about your times man. I like those traps, though I have no clue what setup you are running, so enlighten us, PLEASE  For BFGs that really isn't too bad, they are good for the street but when you start making decent power like yourself its gonna take a slick like you mentioned. But I'm real curious as to your entire setup.

You can find detail's here.
http://www.4g61t.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16108

Its basically stock bottom end, cams, intake mani, lightly ported head, ported 2g exh mani, FP3065, full 3'' exhaust, blow through mass air, 850cc's, 255lph, and a burnt eprom for injector compensation. I was thinking this setup would be good for high 300s on pump and over 400 on 25psi and 110, but after seeing these traps it seems a bit down on power. I plugged the numbers in a hp calculator and the car is probally making 320ish, i was hoping for about 375-380 on pump.

Lilevo was making 405whp on FP3065 with 272s, stock intake manifold on pump at 24psi, though he was on an AEM, has the ability to do a bit more fine tuning. When you start making around 350whp cams really can help get you to +375whp. My buddy is making 335whp and trapping 113 on BFGs so you gotta be making 350, at least I would think around there.

I would be happy with 350whp through full exhaust on 23psi 93octane @ low 11's afr. I don't think the car is making that much though as it weighs only 2190(2340 w/ driver), that is low 300s with a hp/mph calculator.

I know spinning usually results in more mph than if you hooked but I think in my case it may be less, im not flooring it till third and in 1 and 2 its spinning at part throttle, maybe that's giving me less mph. I may dyno the car soon to see for sure, and I would like to see what gain dropping the exhaust and pulling the air filter will do.

I verified base timing today and it's at 5, also did a compression test and its 170-168 across the board. So I dont know what is wrong, maybe the t-belt is off a tooth. I will know if I dyno it and it makes less than 350ish if something is wrong or not.

On a side note I think I pushed some coolant the last run as I felt the car mildly lose power while going through the traps. This morning I noticed some coolant had come out the overflow and checked the radiator and some coolant is definately missing. So Im gonna try to pressure test the coolant system tomorrow and if it is the gasket I will just beat on it till it goes. The car feels fine now, its still fast no breaking up. I dont know what to replace it with though as I dont want to deck the block. I thought arp's and the felpro would hold up to 25psi and some good gas but if it failed at 23 then I need to make it stronger. I guess next time around I will shave the head and try a copper or composite gasket, I dont think a cometic would seal unless I deck the block.

Yeah your car is fairly light so maybe you are making slightly less than 350. Spinning is gonna drop your trap speeds cause you aren't going as fast as if you hooked. My car does not accelerate when boost comes in during 1st gear. Sounds like you might be pushing some coolant from the HG letting go. What did you torque your ARPs to? Hopefully you can get it squared away and make some solid power and trap some mid 120s on pump, I think you can on that setup. Keep us updated on your progress.

Who's we? Got any pics of this car, cause I gotta see what it looks like to trap that high on that little bit of power. Has to be a 1700lbs no dash/lexan car to run that trap at 245whp.

I'm fairly certain it doesn't exist.

Those CRX's are really damn light. What kind of setup were you running, FI or N/A?

Would have been nicer if you would have stated that you were referring to a honda, considering we are on a colt/mirage forum I assumed that's what you were talking about. I've seen 220whp hondas running 11s on slicks, though they don't weigh too much. Easy to go mid 12s in a gutted hatch making over 200whp on a BFG.
