SO, that is part of the Axel, and not the trans correct? It does not look like a tranny part.

If so, just go to Autozone and get a new one for 50$ with a LIFETIME WARRENTY. :)

That cage is part of the outer cv on the drivers side. It captures the bearings and allows you to make a turn while still moving, but i knew you already knew that. And for that part of the cv, you cant get it anymore with the mitsu part #, but other years of mistu and dodges used it in larger quananties. I just have to find out what years. And as far as the cardone axles, they are junk and not the same....yes the same length but different diameter shafts and splines. Alot smaller! You can use the whole axle in a jam, but ive seen it taken apart. the parts dont match . Thats what i tried to do 3 weeks ago before the gmu meet.

See if you can get an axle from Raxle, they are pretty damn beefy when it comes to the 1g DSM axles that I've delt with, not sure if they make a turbo colt axle, but if they do it would be sweet.

The ONLY reason I recomended it is because that is what I am using in my car right now, and are yet (knock on wood) to break an axel. The Shaft is physically as large or larger than a FWD turbo unit.

This is good to know. Do you happen to know who makes the Autozone axles?

Cardone makes most of them

Indeed.

really, it all depends on the core returned. If you returned a Dodge Omni axel for your core for a FWD turbo axel, the next guy to come along will have a problem. :o

Thats why its hit or miss. I got lucky and ogt an actuall FWD turbo axel, but thats not what I returned for a core .

Just be aware when buying an axel, make sure it is nice and beefy.
