Hey guys...I just took my colt to the track for the first time since I've owned it. for a little background it has the stock 4G61 with 278,000km (173750miles). I have a 14B, 450 injectors, 1G MAS, 90 DSM ECU. the guy who owned it before me ran a 15.0 in the 1/4 so I figured I would be mid to low 14's with it...well my best run of the day was a 15.8. it was extramely hot out at the track and I figure thats what did it. my last run of the day was about an hour after the sun went down and it cooled off and thats when I ran the 15.8. Before that was low 16's. what can I do to make this a little more efficient on the track???

Stock boost levels I assume and no intercooler in the mix? That right there is the biggest difference as to why you aren't making the better time ranges. After those upgrades you should also look at tuning the car as well.

What Tim(Flying Eagle) says! I don't even take my Colt out in hot weather, seems like it loses 50 hp, and I'm running a front mount-but just a smic converted, but soon I will have a custom built bar and plate at double the size!

I have a Talon sidemount intercooler and nowhere near the stock boost level...15psi. the engine is pretty tired though....110-105lbs of compression in all 4 cylinders

There ya go. Time for a rebuild, or a swap.

I have a spare 4G61T that needs a rebuild also...I dont know if I want to go with that or a 4G63T. I want the 4G61T because it is so smooth and quiet. what type of pistons should I get for a 1.6L. what are my options. I wanna eventually put a small 16G on it with a 2G MAS and 550's.
