Yup, it's my old car... sold it after I received a rather generous 83/25 zone speeding ticket. The car does exactly what DJ says it does, whether you think it should be faster or not of course is personal opinion.

My personal feelings are that the car would possibly go faster with a big 16G. Ask DJ, I've told him the same thing many times, but he's old, and that's what old people do -- listen to your advice and then do what they want. :P

I was trapping in the 108mph range on the 14b at 18psi. Spool is so absurd on the 60-1, that I've no doubt a smaller turbo (or NO) would help it. Consider the fact that the motor is ancient, the exhaust manifold is a stock *1G*, the intake manifold and head (including cams) are all just just DSM/CSM parts, and it shouldn't surprise you that it's not trapping 120+.

Finally, for the poster that commented on running faster et's on a smaller turbo -- ET is far more closely related to traction than it is power. My AWD Talon went as quick (et) on a T-25, but did it at 98mph.

ET is useless for assessing power, especially given the sad state of DJ's driving. Huge power:weight is of little value if the proper traction cannot be obtained. Go search YouTube for the TT Ford GT if you don't believe me.

No flaming from me, I was talking about a high mileage motor like that and that much boost pulling that much MPG. I should of explained more. Now that I just came back to this post, I see that you are getting some flack.

Rich

Yeah it get's crazy gas mileage on the Highway but not when I am driving Eric drives all day without boost. I can't go thru the gears without hearing boost :)

On the way to the SO it average 37mpg on the highway. It is a 7.5 hrs journey for us

Are you refuting the above statement? My point was simply that a 114+ mph trap would easily net a much faster e.t. than 13.4 or whatever DJ ran, but apparently you missed it.

So, enough with the trite resposes, and go ahead and enlighten us if you feel this is not the case...

Nah, no apology necessary. It's the nature of the Internet, I suppose... :-?

I bought my (now DJ's) Colt from Jon. We try to get up there and party at least once a year. Sometimes, we find it hard driving the 10 hours back the next day.

Drinkin' hurts more when you hit 30, eh DJ? :P

I don't ever remember a Nate however, we usually end up killing more brain cells there then most places we go. Jon (Rip) Ripple always shows us a kick-ass time, and yes Bill Recovery after 30 is a bitch :) U will see soon enough

Havn't missed anything  ... He came on and stated his times and that he had a tired old 1.6l and seemed like we were going to be amazed...I was just stating that there are other guys on a tired old 1.6l running faster times and traps and doing so at denver elavation...Oh and we are tuning with an afc to..Sorry you guys can't handle my opinion  ...Oh for the et there is a 50 trim and 1.6l combo that runs on 20psi tuned with an afc and street tires he netted 13.2's at 119mph...26 psi just seems like alot of boost for 114 traps but again that is just my opinion might go faster with less boost but who knows...

Just got the car running again since busting the 3-4 shift fork and slipping clutch

Best pass
rt .158
60' 2.110
1/8 8.259
mph 93.43
1/4 12.357
mph 122.13

This was on 205/55- 14 Nitto DR's. 19 psi, 91 oct pump gas, and untuned cause I like taking chances. I got in 9 runs, just hot laping it. All but one pass was 120+ mph.
