I've been hearing about this collection of original C53A cars for a long time, but the place is about 5 hours north of where I live. I was just up in that area last weekend, and my buddies took me over there, and I was pretty amazed at what I found. It was basically a graveyard of CSM's and DSM's, which seems like a pretty rare thing nowadays. With more and more DSM shops disappearing, and people completely losing interest in them, it always surprises me to find a shop that will still work on them and keep parts for them laying around. Here are some pics of what I found when I went there:

Legit '92 GVR4, don't know what number. '89 Colt GT Turbo w/ power windows, and some broke-ass 2g AWD's

Holy old-school license plate border!

This is what it was attached to

Another '89 Mirage Turbo

Under the hood of that one. The odometer only read 124k

2g AWD automatic, with a '92 or '93 Laser AWD behind it

1g GSX they're working on inside the shop

That's awesome! The GVR4 is exactly like my old GGSX! What shop is this out of curiosity?

The rarest find I've seen to date, based upon the variation of Mitsu products in various states of disrepair!
Three VIN's to the registry in one day! Sick, thank you !!!
If I had known, I would have asked you to get the guys at the shop to pull the AC condenser fan out of one of the turbo Colts. :-({|=

It's just a normal performance shop. They had all kinds of stuff in there.

Tony I´m courious, When you say peaple are completely losing interest on dsm, I like to understand this.

The people that used to have dsm cars, What kind and brand of cars are they racing now? or they loose the interest for the racing cars ? It was just a fashion that now is dying?

Yes. "Tuning" imports was a fad for some people. Most of those "posers" now have jacked-up diesel trucks "rolling coal" making 500whp and 1,500lb-ft(just ask them) of torque but still only manage to run in the 14-15s. For the rest, I have no idea.

Plenty of these idiots in my area also, fanboys or whatever you may call them. Not many people have a passion for a certain make let alone platform like most of us. :prayer:

Most people who used to have DSM's all bought EVO's, or if they're really well-off, GTR's.

Here is almost the same, a lot of people who used to have 90´s cars like DSM, or EG Civics on Nissan SER, and that kind of cars, now are driven 2012 models car, like TIIDA, COROLLA and even a lot of Chinese or Korean Cars.

For example: a 2012 Hiunday Tucson cost about $20.000, but a EVO IV 1996 cost about $18000, only the people who really really likes the old school cars and don´t mind drive a 90´s are buying EVO.

A Mitsubishi Evo 9 could cost even $30000,

I think that sadly the Japanese cars time is running out,:

I would have to disagree with this, There are a few shops that have have come and gone but I seen more shops opening, at least in the midwest. Shootout seems to prove this every year, I still don't understand how it keeps growing it blows my mind every year.

Things are different in SoCal. No one cares about drag racing out here, and there are no 1/4-mile tracks within a 300-mile radius of where I live. DSM's make a pretty crappy road-racing car when you could just get an EVO instead. The only people who drive DSM's anymore are brokedick teenagers who can't afford to mod them or maintain them properly, or people like me who want to preserve the glory days before EVO's came around and ruined everything

It had the awful burgundy cloth interior too! Never seen that on a white car before
