Shawn, I have an oem header here from an expo and from what I read the 16v sohc head has the same pattern as the dohc so it should work. I'm sure it will have to be modded to fit the dsm down pipe though.

Im using the same headers, they bolt right up to the 1g down pipe. At least mine did. I am using a 16v SOHC Expo header, and and 92 1g down pipe.

Maybe I can come up with a way to repair the rear bumper, who knows? I'll post up whatever I come up with.

I scoped out a few na 1g's yesterday at the yard. Going back one afternoon to pull a trans and all the needed swap parts. I also looked on Rockauto.com today because that's where I got a brand new Beck Arnley clutch kit for the summit wagon for $60, they still had 2 in stock and marked them down to $50 now so I grabbed another one. Can't wait to get this thing on the road.

I'm torn now on the t-belt stuff because I took the cover off and it has an oem belt on it. I'm 99% sure theres no way it can be the original one since the writing is so clear. No cracks or anything either. I may just swap in the trans for now and get it on the road and then worry about the t-belt maintenance later. We'll see.

Well I will admit that I had just pressure washed it only minutes before I took the pics so she is a little more faded than the pics show. Other than that it really is in great condition. I have the flywheel/clutch/trans in it already, just need to pull the dash to mount the pedals and the shifter/cables and hopefully she'll be back on the road soon.

There is a fwd turbo car at the local yard with the same wheels. I could snatch them and store them until you get back.

We've made some progress on our latest purchase. The pedals and the shifter are installed. We also grabbed a crack free dash from the junkyard to swap in since the old one is out. Seems this is a commom problem with 1g's now because out of 10 1g's at the yard only 2 had crack free dashes. I also bought some epoxy in an attempt to fix the lifting dash pad. Its not terrible but needs to be fixed.

We grabbed a headliner too since this one didn't have one. Recovered it with fresh material but the trim can't be installed until I get the dash back in. Also scored some leather seats that are almost perfect. My wife goes with me to the junkyards since she's out of school for the summer and she tells me there's a 1.8 dsm with perfect leather. I go and look and it seems someone had the seats professionally reupholstered so we quickly snatched them up. I'm not sure if anyone makes a kit for the 1g's or not but they look factory. Also scored some mudflaps as well. We also got a radio from a 4g mirage ls and it has the same plug as the dsm so maybe it will work with no issues. Funny how we're buying parts for a car that we haven't even driven yet but its getting there.

Hmm, I have no idea but I'm pretty sure I could locate either. What are you looking for exactly?

its in my build thread.. im putting a 1g awd front subframe into my colt.. so all parts will be dsm up front.. the rack I have now is power and in bad shape.. dont want to spend 200 for a remanned one.. and i heard the 1.8 dsms had the manual racks. and theres none locally here.

It runs! :P

And it only took me 3 months. Drove it a few miles a few days ago. I need to bleed the brakes and address an exhaust leak near the muffler. I'm also searching craigslist daily for some 205/55/16's because these are mismatched and dryrotted. Even though its a na car it did bring back memories being behind the wheel of a 1g dsm again.
