nothing shows up with the last 5 digits..but the mitsubishi 49179-*****..(*= diff numbers) all point towards the 4d31t engine. (d= Diesel engine)

The number doesn't come up with anything substantial when ran through Google. The housing appears to have had a tag at some point that was removed.

Pull the compressor housing and the turbine housing then measure the wheel diameters. Get the measurements for both the inducer and exducer on the compressor wheel. We may not be able to tell you exactly what the turbo came on BUT we can tell you how that wheel will performif we have this information.

The exhaust side has a diamond star followed by the # 78-10820 and 070 stamped on it. It seems to be flanged for a subaru. Does this help distinguish the turbo?

Appears to be flanged for a Subaru? Pics of this flange? I promise you will learn more about the turbo after measuring the compressor and turbine wheels.

Looks subaru to me. First generation USDM WRX turbo maybe? If so, they are pretty small. 13G compressor wheel. How about a picture of the turbine inlet.

Already told you what it was. 2002-2006? WRX turbo. No idea on price. Probably not worth much, maybe no more than a 14b or t25.

run a tape measure across the inducer of compressor side. i think it may be an older fp turbo.

its entirely possible with how thin the casting is where intake tube bolts on.
