and before we know it the manual transmission cars will be the ones getting snickered at.
They are already being snickered at, by the guys who own autos. I own a 5 speed AWD Colt and the car is fun to drive, its fast, but it'd be completely different and much quicker as an auto car. I've swapped two 4g63 powered cars from manual to auto, a 90 DSM, and 90 CSM. Both cars became so much faster with the swap that I really don't see any reason to own anything in a 5 speed. If you like losing sure. If you consider all things on an AWD DSM drivetrain with a car making over 500whp, most guys swap to a twin disk, they build the trans, possibly look at an aluminum driveshaft, etc.
The twin disk alone is worth more than a fully built auto with restalled converter. Not to mention it doesn't miss shifts, doesn't cause near the drivetrain havoc as a 5 speed, and will last longer, oh yeah, its faster too.
Clutches are for Losers
It sounds like you had operator or traction problems to me. The auto swap must have been a good choice for you.
Let's put it this way. I so much as see a 500whp AWD Auto CSM next season I'm killing it first and I'll keep killing it at the track all season long or until the cops trace a chalk line around it and haul the POS away.
